  6. Q4 No of sizes = 2 No of way of packing for each set = 2 out of 4 , 3 notepads have to be packed 2 sets of diff.. sizes; same size &same color or, same size different color possibility of choosing 3 from same size same color= 4C3 similarly for same size ,same color= 4C3 => 2* 4C3= 8 now computing for the another set of size of same/different color is also 8 therefor total is 8+8 =16 Q3 try pluggin in the values and prefferably start from C for Q2 I dont know how the answer is d if we take x=1 ( stated x is positive) then the x^2 =1/x shdnt the condn hold gud for all positve value of x??
  7. JMO, a retake will be good, I know my advice stinks as GRE of late has become sour!!! But, bf4 tht ask her to confirm if her schools have any cut off scores for each section, hopefully if she is safe then, there's nothin to worry!;)
  8. Thanks for wishes. Of late everyone has been telling the same, tht quant is tougher........:yuck: Can you cite a few examples of how the Qs were formatted so tht I can atleast get an idea??!:(
  9. The test only tests on your fundamentals. So DONT touch any journals/papers ;they are all extraneous! Any book tht deals with the fundamental aspects is perfect. Just read the 2 books chapter by chapter ,thts enugh. And try solving the problems after each chapter. Ofcourse find some good material/text for Genetics. NCBI has many online text books too Why I suggested Cloning was it covers mostly all the aspects of molecular biology; viz; DNA, transformation, sequencing, protein purification etc; so you get a complete picture. If you schedule your plan of study (start early so tht you have enugh time for the concepts to sink in) the test will be a breeze! GL!
  10. but, I dont see a strong relation betn fickle:affection. I got the answer by way of elimination.......:( LOL!! yeah Im paranoid now as the test dates are gettin closer!!:D

  13. thanks for explaining. I have one more quey in reg to the same problem how can x+z/3 be the median??:hmm: and if I take your e.g of 2,3,3 then the median is 3 or 2+3/2....... what am I missin......:yuck:
  14. all questions have equal weightage. So dont fret. You have a LOT of time until your test. Become thorough in your fundamentals. Alberts Cellbiology and Biochemistry by Lehinger shd be studied from 1st to last page. Seems daunting, but scheduling your time will make it much easier!! Also, if you can try doing a small simple project viz; cloning etc; then the experimental section will be very easy to crack... GL!
  15. thanks! good explanation. ...:)\ when is your GRE?
  16. CONGRATS!!!!! can you tell me how difficult was the test? I have mine in less than a week......:(

  21. OK, so R &S take 12 hrs to do the work together (1/36+1/18= 1/12th the work/hr) so in 2 hrs; 2*12= 2*X ( no of machines*no of hrs) => X= 12. since the number of machines employed are same then R=S=12/2= 6.........??
  22. CONGRATS!!!! its still a good score! btw, how was the Quant section?? any new , unfamilar qs or they mere more trickier??:( I have mine in less than a week, so your input will help me ..... thanx
