  1. I think we are comparing actions here.. how a book reads instead of comparing the books.. for this reason as should be used and will go with C though seem changes the meaning a bit
  2. Mike, Congrats and enjoy like you are dude. 10 beers? have 2 more.. make it a dozen :) Share your experiences in verbal when you get a chance..especially the question breakup between SC, RC and CR..and if you could for math too. thanks
  3. Folks, A doesn't fit in with how independent clauses should be joined. Also if choice D didn't have the ing form of the verbs and had infinitives, what would you rather chose? Also the usage of 'with' in choice D isn't confusing because it refers to the subject since comma separated expressions can be considered parenthetic. would really appreciate if somebody can explain..thanks
  4. For the first question, I find A incorrect because its construction is like IC1,and clause-2 but clause-2 isn't an independent clause.(Who had the power to do A and B.) Also I am confused with the usage of with.Does it relate to the subject or to the preceding noun? Can somebody please help? Thanks
  5. charu, If I chose option B, .... 'that' will refer to the nearest noun ( wing span),right?? I mean unlike it, that can't refer to the Quez....? Please explain. thanks
  6. Is 'rather than' always better than 'instead of' in GMAT?
  7. IMOC.In B, I think there is another problem.... since is used as a coordinating conjunction. Since if used as a conjunction doesn't need a comma. can somebody please comment on this point? is my understanding correct? forti, were you thinking of IC1;furthermore,IC2 when you said it requires a semi colon before and a comma after it.
  8. B has more problems than D because it is not clear what 'they' refers to.
  9. I don't think A is a run-on sentence. You need two IC joined with a , to create that. In A the meaning is not clear. C fixes that by keeping related words together. ( effort was begun 2 years ago, not the health care of children). One request please don't post the answers without allowing sufficient time for discussion.
  10. In this question, if choice D was "D) not all the proceedings of the Communist party conference held in Moscow have been carried live", what would be the correct answer? thanks
  11. Skarya, I think the issue is not run-on sentence with choice C but a series in which the last part doesn't have an and.Run-on sentence issue occurs with independent clauses.
  12. In C, increasing CO2 in the atmosphere resulting from......gives a sense that atmosphere is a result of combustion..... so I would go with B....is this reasoning correct?
  13. what is the source of this question? E is the only one making some sense...
