  1. Bro, can you pls mail either azizur1410@yahoo.com OR iamalazyguy@gmail.com asking for the same. They should be able to help you - if not let me know I'll mail you. Similarly, once you get the document you should pass it on to others who ask this - that is how this forum works and everyone have been tremendously benefited from this altruistic act shown by TM members. Kudos to all.
  2. From what I have seen from your posts, you do a pretty good job. Just relax and take control of the test. Don't succumb to its pressure. Use the time breaks that GMAT provides fully to your advantage. In last few days, try to solve as many GPrep Qs as possible from this forum. That will help.
  3. Pls check your mails => azizur1410@yahoo.com, iamalazyguy@gmail.com I just mailed across the BRUTAL SCs.
  4. Real test questions are of similar difficulty level. Got a simple DS on Probability. Lot of basic number systems questions - but nothing extraordinary if you are comfortable with GMATPrep questions.
  5. I am not sure about OG10. I just did OG11. Get hold of Manhattan CR Guide. Learn the tricks for approaching each type of CR questions and then practice from OG11 along with your learning from Manhattan CR Guide. You should be good. Actually, it is as important to solve everything as it is to solve within stipulated time. The same level difficult question may seem easier/harder depending upon how much stressful you are OR how much time you have in hand. So it is very important to solve the questions within stipulated time. Get hold of TestGrid and use it for all kinds of practices you are doing. It will really help you keep your pace.
  6. Yes, I forgot to mention - I did all the SC and CR questions from OG11. Didn't do any Quant or RCs. Yes, OG11 CRs are good. The logic tested are the same that GMAT asks. I found the CRs asked were very basic. Nothing extra-ordinary. So stick to the questions on strengthening/weakening/assumption/completion etc., etc., Don't really have to go overboard on solving questions from LSAT books - that's good for practice only if you have enough time.
  7. I started warming up in March/April but prolonged the process for really a long time before taking a shot. When I was all set and raring to go in late AUG/early SEP, something very personal demanded my urgent attention. It consumed all my time and for few weeks I had to live without even accessing internet. When I found myself relatively free towards end-SEP, I realized that it was way too difficult for me to regain the pace - I could not get back to the same level of preparedness that I earlier had back in AUG/SEP. But still decided to go ahead and take a stab but then the availability of seat was a difficult proposition. I was helpless - didn't know what to do. Last thing that I wanted was to go to a different city and take the test. Hence instead of spending time preparing for the test I spent time endlessly checking for seat availability at MBA.com. Once I spotted a slot but before I could block, it was gone. So my frustration went up all time high. At the same time I was not able to add any value to my preparation as I was already fully exhausted and going through the burn out phase. It was right that moment, lady luck smiled on me and I got a date. Preparation: SCs My preparation primarily consisted of focusing all my energy in SCs. The way I made use of the forum is started working on old threads (from lets say page no 50 backwards). Everyday I would solve at least 3 to 4 pages (each page has 25 Qs). Since I could afford very less time to spend on the forums, I focused more on working out the questions rather than posting a very detailed answer to all the questions that I encountered. Materials used: Manhattan SC(it is good but not sufficient), Brutal SCs - Collection of all the difficult and controversial SCs GMAT Prep SC Collections(you can search in various forums with keyword gmatprep) Posts by Erin/Bob. I maintained by error log to look back to in later part of my prep.SCs in real test are much harder and comparable to tough bin questions we see in GMATPrep. CRs I found the Manhattan CR book very useful in building up the foundation. With the concepts gained there, I could solve most of the CRs. For CRs too I used the forum to solve older threads and sometimes solve the GMATPrep questions by searching with keyword - GMATPrep in the forum. Would like to thank fØrti+ for excellent CR postings. It was really a good mental exercise working on the same. RC I focused more on improving my reading speed along with comprehension capability. I am a regular reader at NY Times, BW, Forbes etc., etc., I was doing reasonably good in RC so no worries. Apparently, real test RCs were bit easy. Quant My quant preparation consisted primarily of solving the DS questions from the forum. I used to easily get trapped by tricks that GMAT uses. So I practiced more to see that I don't get dragged into any traps that GMAT lays before me. I solved the collection of GMATPrep questions - it was very nice. Practice Tests Since my preparation was for a considerably longer time, I got enough time to try at least 25 to 30 tests. I practiced all the old paper based tests then switched to GMAT Sets then worked on GMAT Prep. Also tried a couple of tests at ManhattanGmat. It is important to go through at least a couple of mock tests before the real test. It gives solid confidence and builds up the stamina. Can't emphasize more on the Flashcard stuff. It really worked well for me. I maintained error log and also stored links to the discussions in the flashcard for review at a later stage. In GMAT Sets, in quant section, I used to get 2 to 6 number of mistakes and in verbal it used to be 6 to 15. I never bothered about the score I secured in my practice tests rather I focused on reducing number of mistakes. Since some of the answers in GMAT Sets are not correct, I used to refer to the forum. In both the GMATPreps, I scored much above 700. Test Day Suffering from burn out since past several weeks, I had already slowed down my pace(actually I was not able concentrate on my studies). I was never more relaxed than this. On the test day just spent an hour in the morning reading some sample AWA essays and headed for the test center. (From various debriefs I knew what to expect and I was doubly sure that no rep is required whatsoever for AWA). *Not many people would give much thought on this but I would like to ask everyone to remember that apart from two 10-minute breaks, GMAT gives you enough time at many stages through out the test. So you must take full advantage of it. It will help you calm down and relax little bit. At the beginning of the test GMAT gives 5 mins or so to read various instructions and terms and conditions. Anyone can finish this in 1~2 mins but the best thing to do is use this full 5-min, relax and wait until time passes and the next screen comes automatically. Similarly, before begining of each section, GMAT gives 1-min each. Don't just rush through it but use the full time to your advantage. *It is important to take full control of the test and not succumb to it. If you are stuck somewhere then make an educated guess and move on. *It is equally important to spare few seconds to double check your answers before you hit that NEXT button. In 2 instances I had almost marked an incorrect answer choice even though I solved it correctly. A double check really helped me. *It is important to go through all the choices even after you find the right answer to the question (Especially for SC and CR). I wasn't studying much in last few weeks for a different reason. I kept on procrastinating certain study plans till the last day and finally dropped in the last moment. So some of my target materials remained un-touched. But after the test, I never regretted about it. I realized I would not have helped much even if I finished those. I found the real test questions comparable to GMATPrep. So solve as much GMATPrep questions as possible. Search in this forum you will get everything. Thanks mbagrad, truth be told, I also learned many things from all of you. It was a great collaboration effort - I must say. Hoping to meet some of you in b-school. Regarding the tough questions, please refer to Collection of Brutal SCs, GMATPrep SC/Math. Solve as many questions from this forum as possible. Pace yourself well during your regular studies. That will help. Nothing really went wrong. I am really surprised to see my score like this. I was expecting a minimum of 730. I was happy with my performance in the test. I could pace myself well and finished each of the sections with 5 mins to spare. Not really sure, why I scored so less. I was expecting a minimum of 50 in Q and close to 40 in V. That is what I have been scoring in my practice tests. I guess no point cribbing now. I think I can still take a shot at my target schools with some decent app. Verbal Sets were good really for practise. I enjoyed doing each of them. The SCs were good and so were CRs. Try to finish as many Sets as you can. It will certainly help. I guess I played it long... Good luck to all and I wish everyone all the best. If anyone has any question then please shoot back. Will be around for next few days.
  8. My answer is C. Always remember that there will be more than one errors between the correct choice and the incorrect one. So if you are unsure about one error(e.g., usage of resemble/resemblance ) then look for other errors. Upon closer look, it is clear that only choice C and D correctly uses the idiom ....both X and Y However, choice D is awkward so can be easily eliminated. Hence C. ......both because blah blah blah blah..... and because blah blah blah blah....
  9. Guys, Just back from the test center. Finished the dreaded GMAT with 700 - the lowest in any of the practice tests that I have taken till date. So not quite happy about it although I wouldn't waste time taking another shot since the score is quite balanced (over all 92%, Q89%, V75%iles) and falls in the 80% range of all my target schools. I thank everyone at TM. There is nothing more to add in terms of preparations but would definitely add few points on the test strategy. Wait for my next post... too exhausted to write anything more now..... (Just added my debrief in the next page....)
  10. 1) My answer is C for the first question. http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gmat-sentence-correction/59372-sc1000-58-a-2.html 2) For the second question, I agree with the OA.
  11. My answer is E. ....order that.... subjunctive mood: ....state health officials have ordered that the levels of bacteria in seawater at popular beaches be measured and the results (be) published
