"Like" is required here. "As" is used for verb clauses. She sings like her mother She sings as her mother does.

Here "it" functions as an implicit pronoun.

A sentence like this needs commas to show the modifiers correctly. A - not easily understandable. B - "being" couldalways be wrong C - Sounds like the letters are the eye witness D - Change in meaning. Looks like wote the account. E - Correct

A, B and E are wrong ... "at least" and "more" are not required to make complete meaning. C and D => "had no" is better than "had not any"
