  1. Hi everyone, I live in the DFW area .I've been working in the IT space for 4 years now .My current title is Project Manager . I recently wrote GMAT ( 730 -48 Q, 42 V). I'm interested in any feedback\ views of people who are currently pursuing or have evaluated seriously B-schools in the DFW area.Specifically , I'm looking at 1) SMU - Cox PMBA : Did any of you look into this as a potential option ? If so, did you look at how useful it might be for Career switchers? Which specializations are good here ? What are the post graduation options like? 2) UT Austin - Dallas EMBA program : Since no specializations are offered what are your options once you graduate with a geenral MBA? What are your expereinces with the cohort program? 3) Others: ? Constructive feedback/ thoughts/views will be much aprpeciated.
  2. I was tageting 700+ and am happy with the result. Preparation: OG11 ( most similar to actual test) , GMAC practice tests ( Quant is much tougher than the actual exam), Kaplan and Princeton Review. Assorted verbal discussions and uploads on testmagic. I started preparing from the first of Feb 08 . Practiced with OG11 questions and strategies from Princeton initially. Then started on practice tests and read thru Kaplan strategies. Reviewing all tests for mistakes was critical . I started with the AWA templates in Princeton and developed some standard opening and closing options which helped. Test: The procedures are a bit ridiculous with the fingerprints for every break you take and the staff wasn't particularly friendly but other than that the markers, ear plugs , ambience etc were all non issues. Taking the breaks and eating between the sections is very helpful to regain eqvilibrium and focus on each section separately. I got a couple of bananas and an energy drink and forced myself to eat and drink during breaks even though I was not hungry. I'm looking forward to some off time before the application madness starts again. And, Good luck ! PS:I'm looking at MBA programs in and around the Dallas - FortWorth area .Do ping me if interested in discussing DFW area MBA options .
  3. I'd say B . What restored market equilibrium? Persuading people to eat former horse feed. What's the OA?
  4. Ashish, I don't think anyone will ever truly regret accepting an admit at Wharton as far as the professional aspects are concerned for the reasons you have already stated clearly. One thing that I've leanrt with my friend completing an executive MBA from Wharton commuting from Dallas, TX to Philly every other weekend is that the travel and the associated logistics on a continuos basis require a lot of commitment and sacrifice( from a personal standpoint). Having seen how much that takes over the course of 2+ years , I would choose a good local school over a very good school that requires travel. :2cents: And good Luck making the decision!
