    Naplex June2010

I don't think anyone should take the NAPLEX because anyone/everyone else is taking it at that time. NAPLEX is NAPLEX anytime of the day. But ASSUMING your friend's theory is right, how is rushing into the test-- reviewing in a panicked state, forcibly jamming everything in there sooner than you more confidently planned-- how is that any better? Don't make the same mistake I did. Seriously prepare for the exam & pray & then take it! (& then pray again. Hehe). We did great in our school, in our work, in our FPGEE... Everyone here has a good one up there. It's just a matter of time...

    study partner - NY

Hi nivi99, I will be taking mine in June/July too so want serious study partner/group too. Please send me message on how you suggest we do this. Prontopass? APhA? If you have already started with a study group plan and have moved forward from it, I hope you let me join please coz as I said, I am looking for determined study partners to pass the NAPLEX with too. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!
  4. Hi brother,

Sorry but can't help you this time either coz I failed my NAPLEX & I am actually looking too.

There is a glimmer of hope for me with Walmart but nothing concrete yet. Why don't you try them?

This POSSIBILITY is only happening because the pharmacy manager knows how I work & wants me. But again, there is a small chance of this happening because they are apparently not sponsoring graduate interns. But we are trying anyway. Just try and keep me posted.

    All the luck to us!

  5. I bought my prontopass over a year ago but has not managed to go through it until recently (I was lost in all the books!). When I bought it then, there was no mention of Quiz before last material. Where do you get/do the quiz?
  6. Thanks for posting this gtrchick82. Where did you get the "2.0" that you multiplied with the 200 (Volume) for the LIPID though? Coz the 20% should be "x 0.2" and not times 2. Did you multiply it by 10 (which is a round up of the caloric conversion of fat-- 1g = 9 kcal) In which case, the answers by emac & arorarakh were almost correct, except it only needs to be multiplied by 24 (hours) to get the full days caloric intake. Would appreciate clarification.

    Compounding pharmacy

Hi nestt! I have not worked in a compounding pharmacy per se but I used to work in a pharmaceutical manufacturing & our pharmacy does a little compounding. Just shoot the question. Will see if can be of any help.
  8. Hi Subha! Congratulations! When did you take your NAPLEX? Will you give us, the next test takers, some pointers -- like what to focus on, your experiences, and the like. Would really appreciate your help in this monumental event we are trying to hurdle/achieve.
  9. TEXAS - (international) pharmacists need to take naplex WITHIN 3 months of receiving the FPGEC. You need to have SSN to be able to be eligible though.
  10. Hey!

  13. Hi all! If any of you guys have been blessed with passing the NAPLEX and is now looking at your review materials that will gather dust shortly, please just let us (next takers) have them and get back part of what you spent (win-win for all). Please send me a private message or post here if you want. For those who don't have much time to write, please just state Study Material/s for Sale: Price: I am particularly interested in the Prontopass set, most especially the audio CD but could also look at other materials. I am also opening this thread for other NAPLEX test takers so we can all look for good reference/book deals as I know we are all just starting out here. Congratulations to those who cleared their NAPLEX & MPJE and much luck and blessings to us who will! Veni, Studi :grad:, Vici! (I came, I studied, I conquered!) APhA

Hi dregun! Your prontopass still available? Is it the same as the ones being offered online? Hope to hear from you soon! APhA
  17. Hey that's great c12! See you in around soon then! As to the Internship License/deficiency letter, that's what I did as well. I filed in 3 different states. I don't know of any state where there is no shortage. So the only thing to consider really is where one would be happy (do I like the place, do I have friends/family there, etc.). Luckily I got offers in those 3 states. The only real question is which one will work on your papers faster (atleast that was the case for me because some misfocusing happened to me and was left with only 1 month before USCIS accepts applications from employers). Don't get me wrong, you will get no response/s from some, "our positions are currently filled up" from others but you will just have to work on it and try to send your applications to as much chains/stores as you can. It takes work. But the need is there. Think your doing the right thing in trying to apply while there anyway. You lose nothing with trying. I also wouldn't ignore applying in non-chain pharmacies. As to the cost of applying for working visa, the employers will shoulder it. So... goodluck and hope to see you soon! And hey! I'm from the Philippines too!! :) (though don't think that should matter, I can be friends with anyone :) ) Again, goodluck with job hunting!
  18. Hi everyone! I'll be going to Virginia end of September to start with my Internship. Just wondering who would be around the area as well. For new interns, maybe we can form a study group for our NAPLEX. For current Pharmacists, maybe we can just all meet up and form a community; or maybe you could support us new ones too with our review. It would be nice too to form a new circle (of friends)-- that's us hopefully. Not just all work and review, but fun, fulfillment and lasting friendships. :) So those of you interested, just post here and we'll see how this goes. Hope to see you all in Virginia! (or... maybe other people in the neighboring east coast as well?;) ) APhA
  19. Hi nen25, Hi everyone, Just submit everything required by the BOP in your particular state: forms, documents, certificates, etc. that they require. Check the website of the particular BOP you are interested in. The website and other contact details have been sent to you by NABP together with your FPGECertificate. Check them out. Look at the BOP's requirements and submit everything they ask for. After they evaluate your documents, they will mail to you a deficiency letter stating your deficiency, i.e. no SSN or not a permanent resident. This deficiency letter will then be used by your prospective employers as a primary reason for filing an H1B application for you. But again, recruitment generally starts 1st quarter of next year; so don't expect employers to file for you this year, ok? So work on your Internship License/Deficiency Letter. Then just be patient and enjoy your time with your loved ones in your home country, before you know it, it's recruitment time already. :) Again, congratulations to y' all who made it! [clap]
  20. Hi karmina, You heard it right. You need to have SSN to get an Internship Licence BUT... you can get a DEFICIENCY LETTER instead. This deficiency letter will be issued to you by the State BOP (Board of Pharmacy) where you wish to work. Most state BOPs issue this deficiency letter. For foreign pharmacists like us, it is this deficiency letter (which primarily states you don't have SSN and hence cannot be issued an Internship License) from the state BOP that companies look for, together with your FPGEC and resume. Hope to have helped! what you can do is apply with your parti
  21. Hi c12, 1st have you just received your FPGEC? Thing is, for foreign pharmacists, recruitment generally starts 1st quarter of the year (January-March). Re POEA: yes, thats a very sad thing that shuns most employers(not just Walgreens, but other companies from other countries as well). Try writing the companies again 1st quarter next year. That will give you the possibility of being able to start working October 2009. In the meantime, if you still don't have Internship License on the particular state/s you wish to work in, I suggest you start working on that. Companies will be looking for those, together with your FPGECertificate. Congratulations on receiving your certificate and goodluck!
  22. The consul got one of my friend's I797. I was asked for a photocopy of it so I got to keep the original. So I suggest you be ready with a photocopy of it as well. Goodluck! :)
  23. Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me if one has an H1B visa valid from the day after the interview (last week of July) and expiring 2011: 1. when is the earliest date one can enter US territory?; and 2. when is the latest date one should enter? Appreciate your responses, APhA
