  1. Hi Guys, I just gave my GRE and have got 1350 (Q-760). I am a Commerce graduate with Masters in Computer Application from India's top university (although my academic scores were not good). I have 2 years of work experience. Have have no breaks in my education or work experience. I was contemplating on pursuing further studies in Finance. Can anyone please tell me the prospects of either of the two courses & which one has a better chance of me getting into? Any kind of guidance would be really really helpful. Also, if someone could guide me to a good counselors in Bangalore? Would be highly obliged. - Rohit ps: Apologies if this is under a wrong section. Did not know where to put the question.

  3. all were single digit nos. starting from 3 (which i selected for lack of better knowledge).. i think i remember seeing 7 & 9.. dun remember other two
  4. Yes it was.. i freagin lost out 20 marks coz of this n dunno which other question.. was flabbergasted when i got this on the *real GRE exam*. not talkin about a mock test. Anyway, i dunno how can they expect a non math student to solve a problem like this! unless there is a trick that i am unaware of. ps: ppl who hav an urge to throw flake for sharing the question with others.. i dun giv a rats a _ _. Hopefully it would help some poor soul to be better prepared next time.
  5. 9^x = 47 what is the closest integer value of 3^x? and no, there is no typo in the problem.

    Good one

  8. If it is 6:27 in the evening on a certain day, what time in the morning was it exactly 2,880,717 minutes earlier? (Assume standard time in one location.) (A) 6:22 (B) 6:24 © 6:27 (D) 6:30 (E) 6:32 OA : What is the trick to use here? On a certain scale of intensity, each i ncrement of 10 in magnitude represents a tenfold increase in intensity. On this scale, an intensity corresponding to a magnitude of 165 is how many times an intensity corresponding to a magnitude of 125? (A) 40 (B) 100 © 400 (D) 1,000 (E) 10,000 OA:
  9. man this is going to sound really foolish, but when i first read the question (under a timed test) i figured the "There is an untillable strip 20 ft wide on the inside edge" to mean on one side of the edge & was confused on which edge? This problem had me really worked up in the test!! btw, was I the only one to have interpreted it the way I did? anyone?

    Confused

A farmer has a field that measures 1000 ft wide by 2000 ft long. There is an untillable strip 20 ft wide on the inside edge of the field, and a 30 ft wide untillable strip bisects the field into two squares (approximate). Approximately what percentage of the field is tillable? A) 98% B) 93% C) 91% D) 90% E) 88% Answer: Five pickers can pick 10 acres of peaches in 20 hours. How many hours would it take 8 pickers to pick 23 acres of peaches??
  11. I used actual values to figure out. Took around 3 mins to solve. Share price of P = 15 (LCM of 3, 5) Share price of Q = 5 Share price of R = 3 She bought 4500 of Q = 4500 * 3 = 22,500 Let x be no. of shares of P & R each Thus, P(x) + R(x) = 22,500 = 15x + 3x = 22500 = 18x = 22500 = x = 1250
  12. now the two chords are diameters if they intersect,? pl explain how u concluded the chords are diameters
  13. My rough sketch was a lil too rough.. i figured my approach was wrong but just wanted to visualize if i saw somethin.. n gave up too early. @Sandeep Bansal http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/graphing/classic/ Try to plot the graph here and you would see the triangle.

  15. Excellent.. i was able to visualize.. but failed to go further..
