  1. Raady, I have admits from Ohio state, NCSU, ASU and Buffalo too. Mostly i wont consider buffalo. There is a close tie for NCSU/ASU/Ohio.. But Ohio is pretty high ranked..thats why i am thinking a lot.. NCSU is very good for n/w s. But aid scenario is bad everywhere in the US. Let me know your personal ID. -kguru (kumaragurutp@gmail.com)
  2. Hi Raady, Good to know your admit into ncsu. yes i do have friends in ncsu as well. i am contemplating on selecting ncsu. aid for ms students is less in ncsu, but there are better job-fairs, co-ops and interns. let me tell more once i call my friend. what are your other admits? -kguru

  4. Hi Jakir/ GRE_pupil, Jakir, I have seen many of ur valid contributions in Quants section. Keep it going.. Practice more of the DI question. The wordings they use will easily decieve us if taken lightly. More chances of making careless mistakes. Pratice Big Book and see to that you get atleast 4 correct consistently. The difficulty level in big book is same as that in the test and powerprep, as well. Test N0 14,15,16.. please work out on these ones There was a very difficult word problem in co-ordinate geometry and i made some educated guess. Based on x-intercept and y-intercept. All the best and keep going. Jakir surely you will do well. - Guru
  5. 6. If we take a hexagon, of the 6 triangles formed 3 wont touch each other. Similarly in a decagon 5 triangles wont touch each other. Hence its 5C3 = 10 ways
  7. malleable and tractable are exact synonyms; but obsessed is too much concerned with a positive or negative event. I think the OA should be B Likewise intransigent is firm and not giving-up on one's stand. -Guru
  8. 'A' is the answer. passion as in compassion and fidget meaning nervous, suits well in this context.
  9. X is a characteristic when there is more of Y. Similarly cloyed means jaded or over-sweet
  10. 1. 80 R for one month = 8/12 = 4/3 PNR/ 100 = 80 2. 126 3/4 * 560 = 420 , of this 30% is not white 30% of 420 = 126 3. 2^10 + 2^20 /2 So i am getting 2^9 + 2^19 Can someone help me out...?:rolleyes:
  11. 1. MEDLEY :MISCELLANEOUS :: truce: hostile Y is something extraneous to X. :: Y is turning outward(not obliging) to X 2. SHERIFF : POSSE :: foreman: jury X controls Y, which is a group 3 . RATIFY: YES :: VETO:NO X have the power to say Y
  12. I think we shouldn't include '0' as a positive integer. So the comparison would be between, (1,1),(1,2),(1,3),(1,4) (2,1),(2,2) (3,1) (4,1) 8 outcomes for xy > 5 [ the pairs that i have not included] 7 outcomes for x+y 8/16 and 7/16 So Ans is 'A'
  13. The pie is like the shape of the cylinder Volume1 = pi* 4^2 *h volume2 = pi* 6^2 *h volume1 * some ingredients = volume2 receipe ingredients = vol2 /vol1 = 6^2/4^2 = 9/4 = 2 1/4
  14. Rez, Thanks for the clarification. I got it.
