Second, as far as I am concerned, it is obious that having the opportunity to follow their own schedules enables students to participate in extracurricular activities. Lots of important skills are not learned in the university. Extracurricular activities may bring you in contact with people you did not know who share your interests and curiosity. A club or group can also be a great way to meet people who are different from you. I can take myself as a good example, when I was a student I used to volunteer for a group that uses basketball as a way to bring special education kids and kids with disabilities together with regular kids. But you need time in order to participate to such activities. That is why I think that it is better to let students organize their time as they want.
