  1. Hi All, I've got an admit from the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder for the full time MBA starting Fall 2009. I know it's not the best known, but could anyone share their thoughts on the prospects of this school? Anyone else with an admit, please do get in touch - let's share our experiences. Thanks.

  3. Harry my friend! You know what I'm gonna say.. 580's no good. You know I'm not saying this to demean you. You know you're better than that. So do I. I dont know what schools you're targeting and how good this score is for them. I'd still tell you to give it that one more shot. Give youself this month. Take a week off if you're tired, I'd actually recommend it. But you're only gonna be back with better. I'd have to agree with Prawler there. What works for you is that your verbal is strong. It's not like that's going to worsen. And improving your quant is not that difficult. You mentioned you've already done the basics, so that's good. All that's left to do now is to consolidate, and that's what'll work for you. If you've not already done the GMAT Math Workbook, I think that's the best piece of material that you can have. Then again, like I've said before, I'm no stud, I've not cracked the GMAT, heck I don't even know you that well :) But I know you're gonna do better than me (at least). All the best bud!

Thanks Harry. That's actually what I did not do. Figured if I need to retake I"ll have to push back my apps for Fall 09. But since I've put in the effort this time around, I'm taking the chance with applying to a couple of schools (Rd 2)with this score, just to see feedback. If that doesn't work out (which is likely) I'll take the GMAT again. You're kind words do help :) If you have a GTalk id or email that you can give me, we can communicate more over the weekend, if you like. You can PM it to me..

thanks a lot guys. i realized i'm being unfair to everybody at TM denying them of my GMAT experience, even it it wasn't very good. even that could help a few people. i'll be putting up me debrief on TM and on my blog in next couple of days. (find less time these days now that i'm back at work) thanks for all the support once again guys..

Got a 650. Q44 V36. Bad enough for me not to put up a debrief. Bad enough for me not to blog about it. Heck, it's bad enough to put me off TM for a while...
  7. anything i can, Surya... :)
  8. by the way, I think you're on track with your prep. Keep going.. I'd say push yourself without thinking about burnout... I'm sure it'll pay off. Good luck bud!
  9. Harry.. I cant say much since I've not done as much as you have. What I can tell you though is a little bit about the mental aspect. (Apologies if you don't need this) I can swear by this, but the single most important aspect for your GMAT is your attitude. You have to push yourself to be positive and optimistic. These are the 2 key words. Don't let any test depress you or, on the other hand, give you a high. Try and take the positives out of every step in your prep. I've been doing this religiously and it's working for me. It's gonna ensure that you're nerves are with you when you're sitting for the real thing. If you're not doing it already, 2 weeks is enough to start. Then again, I'm no stud coz I've yet to take my test, but I'll be damned if you don't feel good. :) My 2 cents...

Thanks Harry, Arun, Thing is, I had seen some of the questions... 1 DS which I didn't remember the answer of and a few CRs of which I remembered 2... The good thing though, is that they came much later on in the section, so I guess they shouldn't count for much. Verbal got me happy. Quant though I thought I floundered... I was shocked to see the score coz i thought my quant was the worst ever. That probably conveys that my confidence in quant is pretty low so I'm not counting on this score... Gotta pull up a bit there. All said and done, I'm still mentally prepared to return home with a 620. :)

This is interesting. I just took my 5th and last prep test before the GMAT. The first 4 were like this: GMATPrep 1 - 600 800Score - 610 Princeton Review - 590 Veritas - 620 Princeton Review - 580 And today I took GMATPrep 2 and scored a 720 (Q47, V42). All this within a month. Of course I'm happy but I'm also a little surprised and a little confused. Taking it with a pinch of salt. Anything I should look out for? (this isn't on the blog yet - I'll be updating the blog now only after G-Day 25th)
  12. of course that's good.. :) no problem mate.. you keep going..

sounds interesting Harry.. I'm sure up for it. I'm taking my GMAT this Saturday, 25th. Post that i'm gonna have a lot of time to give back to the GMAT :) Coincidentally, I too am not getting the results that I would expect for my effort. But the key is to remain positive and confident. The idea is to take every practice test result with a pinch of salt. Take only the positives out of it. Find a pattern in your mistakes and work towards sorting them out. In the end, even if it doesn't reflect on your scores, you'll feel more confident about those problems. That'll help you ultimately for the real thing. That's what I'm doing. Let's see how it goes... Hope for the best.. good luck to you too, mate!
  15. Thanks D.. though the idea of erasable pads sucks.. was it difficult to switch to from pencil and paper?
