  1. Congrats internationalstudent08!
  2. Thanks Antichron in advance! I agree with iugi85 that harvard placements seem to be better than MIT's Can anyone comment on these two departments in terms of their finance/financial econ/international finance groups? Thank you.
  3. I am also in with the same package. The fly-out is on March 25!
  4. I totally agree with wednesday and signal08 about grades in freshmen year. I didn't do that well in the freshmen year either. I think ad-coms look more at the trend of your GPA, and particularly your performances in key classes, such as LA, RA, and of course quantitative econ classes.
  5. What is that? And, i thought i would never see God.
  6. I agree that Columbia is underrated (my prof said so). I think their macro team is strong, and it's NYC!!! I think it's funny how they spent a whole paragraph in the acceptance letter selling NYC, something like from the Broadway theaters to street performers. :)
  7. They're very likely go to the wait list this year, if most people prefer MIT (as econphilomath suggests). They accept 39 people this year (I remember reading somewhere on TM that they accepted 40 something last year) Good luck! econphilomath, we indeed applied to the same schools.
  8. econphilomath, you know what I was thinking the same thing. I didn't apply to PENN and Northwestern though. Oh, congrats on fully funded Chicago. That's sweet!
  9. I just got the email too! Congrats to all those admitted!
  10. Thanks knotty! I almost deleted that email because I thought it was spam.

  12. Thanks! econphilomath! I still plan to attend Columbia's fly-out! See you there! PS: I already turned down my Minnesota offer. I plan to withdraw my applications from UCLA and Michigan once I get a formal letter/email.
  13. i can also confirm that they're still making call! im speechless!
  14. I also nominate asianecon, luigi85, and eqtisadi! (can I nominate 3 contenders?) I looked at Antichron's profile. He's really the eldest son of Zeus!
