  1. left side triangle with 70-30-2x. 70+30+2x=180,x=40;
  2. I'm learning something here........ Anyone pl. explain why the ans is vivd rather than mundane. 1. She writes across generational lines, making the past so GRAPHIC that our belief that the present is the true locus of experience is undermined. or 1. She writes across generational lines, making the past so PROSAIC OR EVERYDAY that our belief that the present is the true locus of experience is undermined. thx for the ans though.
  3. 1. She writes across generational lines, making the past so _ _ _ _ _ _ that our belief that the present is the true locus of experience is undermined. (A) complex (B) Distant © Vivid (D) Mysterious (E) Mundane "undetermined" key here.So roughly could be Mysterious or Mundane. She writes across generational lines, making the past so _Mysterious _ _ _ _ _ that our belief that the present is the true locus of experience is undermined. goody,but we will test the other too, She writes across generational lines, making the past so _Mundane _ _ _ _ _ that our belief that the present is the true locus of experience is undermined. mundane is related more "worldly " than mysterious.Mundane means often commonplace job or everyday boring issue. So,her writings about past are so common place and boring that,our "general" belief that the present is dependent on past is in question this sentence has a confusion mood than a profound"mysterious" mood. Good Q.:grad: 2. Their _ _ _ _ _ was expressed in quotidian behavior: they worshipped regularly, _ _ _ _ _ all the regenerative processes of nature respect, and even awe. (A) Selflessness reserving to (B) Moderation extending to © Reverence exacting from (D) piety according (E) Serenity refusing worshipped-for first blank-none other than piety. I am not sure about the later part.Did you type in right there. I guess the Ans is D. Do let me know the right one.
  4. I follow vocaboly-it has barrons latest word list,and I rely on Dictionary to learn the meanings that i am confused about most. Vocaboly allows you to classify the words in 1-5 difficult levels-and you can even test them with it's games. I suggest to go thru Dictionary for the words. Esnips is a good source for verb-try out
  5. col A 1/96 + 1/97 + 1/98 + 1/99 + 1/100 col B 1/25

  8. 1) Among the many ______ of the project, expense cannot be numbered; the goals of the project promoters can be achieved with impressive ______ a) highlights .. efficiency b) features .. savings c) disadvantages .. innovation d) claims .. speed e) defects .. economy ";"supports the statement b'fore it.expenses can't be numbered-and so the opposite of expenses would achieve the desired action. so savings and economy coulkd be the ones, 1) Among the many _defects_____ of the project, expense cannot be numbered; the goals of the project promoters can be achieved with impressive _economy_____-if its a defect of the project....... must be wrong.rule out Among the many features______ of the project, expense cannot be numbered; the goals of the project promoters can be achieved with impressive ___savings___ feels best-100%+ve
  9. Nuances are Subtle distictions(minute distinctions amongst things or persons) (A) remnant : preservation--remnants are leftover of an existence-irrelevant (B) shade : spectrum-a color shade is a part of spectrum © hint : suggestion--hint-an implied action of suggesting-say-a mom hints the kid to go awys from angry father-this could be the best fit (D) trace : existence-trace is small existence(trace element )but it doesnt indicate 'the distinctions'we are looking for (E) splinter : disintegration-rule out 2. DEMUR : QUALMS::- lets say a Demur is charecterized by feelings of qualms demur is a strong voice against a decision-qualms-uneasy felling of an action against rules or impropriety (A) placate : pique-opposites (B) obligate : benevolence-rule out © atrophy : rehabilitation-ruleout (D) manipulate : experience rule this too (E) waver : irresoluteness-looks right a wavered action is charecterized by irresoluteness.
  10. Rahul-, you gotta identify your mistakes and change your strategies,otherwise there is a chance that you get the same old score again. Since you gave the GRE once,you can use their free online basic diagnostic service,which I heard is very useful in identifying one's mistakes. Go thru this forum about "How to prepare for GRE" Also for verbal....Be sure to go thru P,Q,R,S,T,V -Bcoz I see most of the antronyms appearing last or of higher difficulty level are from those. Perfect your Root words list. I would prefer you go thru 501 series-RC,SC and word group lists. LEARN BY GIVING TESTS DAILY-Since you have less time--give atleast 1verb and 1 quant-test a day and identify where you are going wrong. For quant-Practice,practice and practice-All types of Qs. You have plenty of resources available on the web.Make use of them. but remeber that Success is one step beyond Failure
  11. Great...sorry for such silly mistakes.Thanks though.
  12. A circle with center O has two tangents at points B and C which intersect each other at point A. Angle BAC is given as 55 degrees Find the value of angle BOC. Col A Col B BOC 110 degrees Ans-A tetragon-ABCO, of angles-55+90+90+x x=360-235= 125. A maths teacher took two tests in her class. 25% of class passed both exams, 42% passed second. What is probability that students who passed 1st exam also passed 2nd exam? conditional probability. p(1st and 2nd)=p(1)*p(2given1); 0.25=p(1)*0.42; =>0.25\.42=0.59 or 60%=probability that students who passed 1st exam also passed 2nd exam. In 1966 the operative mortality rate at certain hospital was 8.1 per 100 cases.By 1974 the operative mortality rate has declined to 4.8 per 100 cases. If the rate decline by 20% from 1973 to 1974 then what is percentage in decline from 1966 to 1973? 2.1% A set contains following no.'s a1,a2,a3.........a100 An= ((n+1)/n)+1) for n odd integer An= -An-1 for n even integer Find it's range... what is An= -An-1 There was a $25 discount on every purchase of $75 there was a 10% charge on shipping which was added before the discount and 20% sales tax after the discount was added. 13. I did the Q this way when it occured to me in the test: abcde--> a*10,000 +b*1000+c*100+d*10+e*1 edcba---> e +d*10 +c*100+b*1000+a*10,000 =>9999a-e+990b-d-990d-b- 9999a-e; since we dont really know the numbers(so the difference could be anywhere between 0 to 9), I assumed the resulting # shall be divisible by 3 or 9; since 3 isnt there in Ans choices,its 9. shall take what do you say
