  6. The bad: 1.The opening sentence is too long. It is almost three lines. 2. Also, try to explain a point once and clearly. This will eliminate the need to re-explain the point. Your second paragraph is a good example where you had to re-explain a point. The good: 1. The length of your essay is long enough. My score on the GRE AWA was 5.5. I am trying to re-take again because my math was bad.
  7. The range of list-1 is 16 and range of list-2 is 10(approx values). If both the lists are combined then what will be the minimum value of their range? SPOILER: Ans: 16 If list 1 is 1,2,3,...16 and list 2 is 1,2,3,4.....10. When combined, we have 1,1,2,2,3,4,4,....10,10,11....16. The minimum value of the range would be 16-1 = 15. Why is the answer 16? I don't understand.
  8. Col A: The standard deviation of 10, 20, 50, 80, 90. Col B: The standard deviation of 11, 30, 50, 70, 90. Another method: Col. A Deviation from previous number 10 - there is no previous number 20 +10 50 +30 80 +30 90 +10 Total deviation: +80 Col A Deviation from previous number 11 - there is no previous number 30 +19 50 +20 70 +20 90 +20 Total deviation +79 Therefore A is greater. Practice these as much as you can and you can do it mentally.
