  2. Dear Friends, I want to know about erasmus mundas masters program and how the selection process will be?
  3. Dear Friends, i need to know about the MLIC study guides, online classes. If any one have taken the course, please help me in knowing, how the preparation from them really helpful in gmat? Also pls give me the rating compared to kaplan, MGMAT, Veritas.
  4. Dear Friend, Consider X as cents/day. my eq is balansing on both sides: cents/day = cents/day. Consider basis as 1 day. Though I made some calculation mistakes, but the eq that i made is correct. According to dynamo; he has taken X as #of days. If you carefully see the balance of eq, it is cents+days = cents+days. You cann't equate cents to days.
  5. Dear Friend, I just changed dollar amount to cents and calculated for day. according to the question, one is increasing at 5x cents and another is decreasing at sqrt(2)x-x cents.
  6. These could be best approaches for question 2 and 3 For 2nd question Concentrate : water = 1 : 3 C / W = 1 / 3 Substitute the required amount of concentrate to be added. So from question C = 12. Therefore, W = 36. Let n be the no. of cans ounces of orange juice required. n*(12+36) = 200*6 n = 25 For 3rd question First form the table Year length of the tree. 0 4 1 4+x 2 4+2*x 3 4+3*x 4 4+4*x 5 4+5*x 6 4+6*x Where x is increment in each year. 4+6*x = 4+4*x (1+1/5) x = 2/3.
  7. IMO correct answer could be D. 320*(1+5*x) = 580*(1-x*(sqrt (2) + 1)) x = 11.5 cents. The price of a corn will be increasing by 0.575 cents/day and the price of wheat will be decreasing by 0.047 cents/day at the mentioned conditions. Day Corn Wheat 0 3.20 5.80 1 3.77 5.75 2 4.35 5.7 3 4.92 5.65 4 5.5 5.60 5 6.0 Approximately on 4th day the two prices are same.
  8. The sentence can be corrected with combination of comparison and S-V agreement. We can split the options into two groups A, D, E & B, C. By the comparison technique, we can delete A, D, E; like is wrongly used and remaining are B and C. These are corrected for verb agreement. Logically ‘factors’ are the key which are affecting the housing market. So, ‘factors’, is subject and it is collective noun. It need singular verb keep. Remove C and B is best answer.
  9. This is the series of numbers we get when a number is divisible by 8 and 11 leaving out remainders 3 and 7. Blue series indicate the number leaving remainder 3 and red series indicate the number leaving remainder 7. Therefore, 51 is the only number in both the series. N = 11, 18, 19, 29, 27, 40, 35, 51, 43, 62, 51, 73, 59, 84, 67, 95, 75, 106, 83, 117, 91, 128, 99, 139, 107, 150, 115, 161, 123, 172……………… I think the remainder could be 7. I agree that the value of ‘n’ is 51, but the question is asking to find the remainder. 51 = 88*Q + r , substitute Q = ½, r=7.
  10. Actually the question some what tricky but is not wrong this is my explanation. pls provide me the right ans. The shortest distance could be 30*root10. Spider can travel 30ft width length and reach up the point behind A. Then it can catch the diagonal path and reach up to point B. Therefore shortest distance = [30 + root ((50^2 + 40^2))] = 94.8…. The value approximately equal to 30*root10.
  11. A merchant paid $300 for a shipment of x identical calculators. The merchant used 2 of the calculators as demonstrators and sold each of the others for $5 more than the average (arithmetic mean) cost of the x calculators. If the total revenue from the sale of the calculators was $120 more than the cost of the shipment, how many calculators were in the shipment? If 2 gallons of the mixture is needed and the individual colors can be purchased only in one-gallon or half- gallon cans, what is the least amount of paint, in gallons, that must be purchased in order to measure out the portions needed for the mixture? 13. “Overtime, the costs of processing go down because as organizations learn how to do things better, they become more efficient. In colour film processing, for example, the cost of a 3-by-5-inch print fell from 50 cents for five-day service in 1970 to 20 cents for one-day service in 1984. The same principle applies to the processing of food. And since Olympic Foods will soon celebrate its 25th birthday, we can expect that our long experience will enable us to minimize costs and maximize profits.” The argument that processing costs go down over time omits some important concerns that must be addressed to substantiate the argument. The analogy that follows the argument statement does not constitute any logical argument in favour of Olympic Foods company to minimize costs of processing foods and it certainly does not provide support to the main argument. Most conspicuously, the argument has failed to address the reasons how the time and experience could bring down the costs and maximize profits of processing foods. First the argument assumes that the organizations learn to do things better and they become more efficient in due time. In a weak attempt to support its claim, the argument states an example of the costs of colour film processing that have gone down between 1970 and 1984 that is not comparable to food processing industry. Second, the argument does not address the reasons that the experience would enable the food processing industry to minimize costs and maximize profits. This could be compensated by stating the reasons of developments in technology and its management, the employee contribution, the quality of product, the market of the product etc. Finally, the argument does not address the reasons, why the film processing industry is compared to the food processing industry And also, the argument does not address the problems of storage, contamination and market of the products of food processing industry that affect costs, as these are not the major concerns of the film processing industry. Because the argument leaves out several key issues, it is not sound or persuasive. If it included the items discussed above instead of solely stating the logic of experience and time enables the organizations to make profits, the argument would have been more thorough and convincing.
