  1. John Miller, U must know brand-generics. In fact for the top 200 drugs,U must also know their MOA, uses, side effects and major drug interactions. I can not stress enough-- MATH COMPETENCY & PATIENT PROFILES R THE KEY TO PASSING NAPLEX.. The more u practice profiles & MATH , the better ur chances. But before looking at profiles, u have to study the subject matter. One thing what helped me-- From the time I began studying, the things that I found hard to remember, like some brand-generics, some important drug interacns, some important math formulae/drugs which could be used formultiple diseases etc etc - Ikept noting them in a separate book. These notes helped me a great deal in my last minte revision. Keep a lot of time to practice math, profiles ,tests before the exam. Also cover odd ball topics like health care equipmt, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical care, std deviation, statistics i.e.p value, ARR, ERR,no. to treat etc
  2. This was my 2nd attempt at Naplex. I had 1 yr gap between the 2 attempts bcoz I had lost my confidence after getting only 70 the 1st time. So I actually just took a break for 6mnths &then started again. For atleast 4 mths I studied for 5-6 hrs each day. for my 1st attempt I didnot know better & I used only the apha comp review, but that wasnt enough. So this time, I revised the apha book and then began a detailed memorized study with prontopass cards & posters. Revised prontopass twice, then started appleton q&a. Frankly I could not complete the appleton book due to time constraints. But u must do it bcoz it is really covers material not there in apha/prontopass. My key was to memorize the core essentials from ppass and then study apha & a-lange for those topics which ppass did not cover. It is really important to use 2-3 resources for your study so that u have a broad area of knowledge
  3. Thanks, Cleared the mailbox.
  4. Pls. send me a msg here if you need any info about the whole process. I used the Apha comprehensive review book, Prontopass combo (I quizzed with Buzz for the last minute on-loan material) & Appleton-Lange questions. For foreign candidates like me, I highly recommed Prontopass combo, because it really sped up the learning process. I found I could remember more stuff using their flash cards & posters rather than just studying from a text. I am not endorsing prontopass at all, this is just from my personal experience. Their quizzing is a good indicator of whether u r ready or not for naplex. Their quick summary and last minute tests were really helpful. Once again, just my point of view. At the same time, u cannot avoid the Apha text. I got lot of detailed info from there. The A&L questions also really helped. I did their tests from the included CD. Thanks.
  5. My goodness, Ican't believe I finally passed naplex, mpje. I am a licensed RPh in the U.S. !!!!!! [clap]:grad:It was a hard ,long road to get here, but I think if I could do it, being a mom of a young child, anyone can. My husband gave me all the motivation I needed. I still dont know my score, waiting for the postal mail to come.. I checked my status on the state website.. Thanks to this forum and everyone who helped answer my doubts along the way. All the best.
  6. Hi guys, another note to add to my above message- I just checked out the pre mpje website.. They offer 7 tests for "all other states" My doubt is each state has different state laws right? Then how can they just offer the same 7 common tests for all states except Fl & New Jersey?? Am I crazy or is my doubt valid? Pls help.. Thanks
  7. Friends, I'm giving my mpje in 10 days. I am using the Barry Reiss text for federal law & the orange booklet from MI state for the state part.. But do I need some other material /online tests etc for preparing well ? Several months back I used to read people on this forum recommending the pre-mpje online site which offers tests for sale.. But I have not seen any recent posts that recommend this purchase. Does anyone out there still feel pre-mpje site is a good buy OR is there any other website that you may recommend? Pls help. I failed my 1st naplex attempt & I want to clearly pass my mpje on the 1st try.. Thanks a lot
  8. Yes, lannoush I also had to give my ssn at time of registration of prontopass.... :( I called them & they said that it is needed for them to loan me the last minute stuff. I have a question too-- I got the first batch of their material in jan. & I planned to give naplex in may/jun( this is the date I mentioned to prontopass also abt my tentative naplex date). But now I feel, I can give naplex only by sept... Will they still loan me last minute material when i need it ,or will they say it's too late now!! Pls reply back, thanks.
  9. Thanks, guys... That helped me a lot... So,I guess I should ask the HR at cvs if its ok with them... if so, i will sit at home while studying for the exams... by the way, i have not yet reported my hours to nabp.. i can wait until i complete the full 1000 hrs & then do it, right?????????/ have u guys reported ur hrs to nabp before u completed the full state required hrs ??? just curious anyways, pls keep in touch... its good to share news with people who r in the same boat as u.. thanks, best wishes
  10. Hi everyone, I get a lot of useful advice from all of u in this forum ,thanks a lot.. I'm sorry for not posting that often... Just reaching out for your help again... i am going to complete my internship hours with CVS.(1000 hrs in MI) I plan to give the naplex, mpje in aug/sept.. my question is: after my 1000hrs are over, can I sit at home & study full time for the exams OR do i have to continue working at the store while i prepare for my exams? i am not able to work & study at the same time,so i prefer to concentrate on studies for naplex, mpje full time? is that ok? any of u who have gone thru this or have knowledge ,pls help....
  11. Hi friends, I am an international intern from MI. I am doing my internship with CVS right now. The MI board says that I need to do 1000 hours internship & then give NAPLEX, MPJE. My question is: Do we compulsory have to be full-time status during internship or is it okay to be part time also?? i greatly appreciate any help . When I started with CVS ,I was doing fulltime(30 hours per week). But ,recently bcoz of the economy, they are giving me only 25 hours per week.. so, i am worried. Please, respond if you know about this situation. Thanks a lot.. All the best

  13. Hi, I am planning to start with CVS soon & I was going thru ur previous posts regarding the CVS experience. I am told that I will have a training before I actually start interning with them.Did you have the same experience? Also, how do I inform the state board abt my CVS preceptor & start reporting my hours to the board? Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks & best wishes.
