  1. IMO C. A/E incorrect because "so" requires a "that" - so can have "as to" but it wil change the meaning of the sentence. B - as a result, to make sense of speech (doesnt mean nething) D - pronoun error (what results in not making sense of speech?) its not the pace of everyday life ..its the inability of some children to distinguish discrete sounds and words .. so we must have the correct subject there which is provided by C. C. - provides correct subject for the last clause. Whats the OA btw?
  2. IMO B. C/D/E extraneous to the arguement A - naturally there are less when the population began to decline. B - if we know the average age of two fossils we can find out what was the cause. If average age of fossil after the population decline is higher than before the decline began - food scarcity was the reason, otherwise hunting was the reason. Whats the OA please?
  3. IMO A. B/C/D/E are out of scope statements. B - the passage never talks whether there are any native plants which could serve as staple crops. There could be, there could not be. c - Rice and yams were the first staple crops in western Africa. The author does not assume that these were the earliest staple crops outside western Africa. D - extraneous. E - This is opposite to what author says - he says agricultural socieites can not exist without staple crops - so staple crops come first and then non-staple. Whats the OA please?
  4. D? Whats the OA? however I am having a difficult time finding out whether the first is a conclusion or a premise. Can anyone please explain? If the first can be a conclusion - A will be the correct answer.
  5. D is the answer. E is not because second is not the authors main point. Authors main point is the conclusion which is "Therefore, the cause of muscle soreness remains unknown. "
  6. ACD - extraneous. B/E could be the answers. I will go for B, because without a proper system in place for recognizing flagrant fouls, there might not be any suspension after all. whats the OA please?
  7. B should be the correct answer. A - could be an answer but its not sure that the same toxin will again come and kill more. B - Looks like the answer - its an extra information that supports the conclusion. C - extraneous D - wild has nothing to do with coastal ones E - extraneous So B is my answer.
  8. D. companies taking more responsibility - does not sound correct in E. whats the OA?
  9. "contrasted with" - idiom usage. A should be the OA. B sounds awkward.
  10. A. E somehow leads us to the meaning that Davy is critiquing his own vision as well, thats not what the original sentence means. D has no parallelism C has no parallelism B has no parallelism. A is the correct answer. OA please?
  11. E. The first part of the sentence "Almost like clones in their similarity to one another" is an adjectival phrase and is a misplaced modifier. The word following this phrase must be "the members of the cheetah species", a noun to which the adjective is referring to. Since other options do not have this, E is clealry the correct answer.
  12. Hi powerthelogic, Why do you think the usage of past tense is incorrect here...I was very inclined to answer D as the correct answer until I found out what the OA was?
  13. I zeroed on A and E and I will go in the favour of A because of parallelism. Also, when I put the whole sentence together with E, its confusing to read. "communal ownership of land that had been a ..." as if it was the land that had been a pre-columbian form of ownership.
  14. Agree with Siliconfish, the answer is E. Sentences containing "can" could be eliminated on the grounds that "could" must be used as the sentence is in past tense. This leaves B and E. B could be eliminated because it is not complete which leaves E.
