  1. I would suggest to get another shoot next month and try to improve a little your verbal score. Your quant is amazing, so with a couple of more points in the verbal part you will reach for sure a 620-650 score wich is competitive for some decent top 100 US schools.
  2. I don't remember exactly but it depends on the section, in some parts there just 30 secs. in other parts 2 min. Anyway, don't worry about that, concentrate on your preparation.
  3. There is also a timmer in the directions.
  4. You have 10 minutes between each section to do whatever you want. You must be careful about that because after the 10 minutes the time of the section start no matter what happen in the world... You also have some minutes to read the directions when the test start. Yes, you can use the time of the directions to relax, as a matter of fact, I recommend you to do that, specially in the middle of the test. The same for AWA, some minutes for directions and then the 30 min. This 30 min. includes the time you have to read the prompt. Use GMATPREP to see the time. After 1st. AWA you will have a minute to read the directions again and then the 2nd. AWA starts. There are no breaks between each AWA.
  5. Considering your practice score, I would suggest taking the real GMAT rather than wasting money and time in prep material. You will definitely get a 700+ score on real GMAT.
  6. Please check http://www.www.urch.com/forums/just-finished-my-gmat/111904-4th-attemp-now-i-really-feel-depressed-please-advice.html Now, I'm going to my 5th attemp... GMAT is an unfair test that doesn't test your real abilities, but it is what we have so far, so go for it!!! Also GMAT is a kind of drug, you can't stop to think about it and you always have the sensation that you can do it better, thus you try to get another shot and continue to spend money and money... This drug ends when you got the score you desire.
  7. My opinion is that if you got a 640 in GMATprep you will get something between 580-600 in real GMAT. Real GMAT is harder than GMATprep, specially the verbal part.
  8. OA is C. I think that "expenditures" is countable so "less than" is incorrect here and we shoud use "lower than".
  9. Al Although the government's expenditures on law suits involving tobacco companies amounts to a sum dramatically lower than that spent by tobacco companies, many believe that the government should allocate no more funds to a battle they perceive as pointless. (A) expenditures on law suits involving tobacco companies amounts to a sum dramatically lower than (B) expenditures on law suits involving tobacco companies amount to a sum dramatically less than © expenditures on law suits involving tobacco companies amount to a sum dramatically lower than (D) law suit expenditures regarding tobacco companies amount to a dramatically lower sum than (E) law suit expenditures against tobacco companies amounts to a sum dramatically lower than What do you think? According to Kaplan the correct answer is C, but it is correct to say "amount to a sum"? I think it is redundant, so all of the anwers are incorrect.
  10. No, I don't. In fact, as I have admissions to some universities, I was relaxed in the test day.
  11. Thanks Buddy, I will try your advice. I'm still confident that I can reach at least a 650. I have 2 1/2 months to work in that in order to meet the deadlines.
  12. Hi mountain_man, as I mentioned earlier GMAT has become tougher, specially on the verbal part, so in my oppinion, OG 10 and 11 is not representative of the varbal part anymore. You will see the same type of questions but the level on real GMAT increased. I haven't taken Kaplan tests (just 1 verbal), but I think that now the level of kaplan in verbal is similar to real GMAT and GMATprep is biased 50 points, so if you get 35 in Gmatprep, your real score will be 28-30. This applies for scores below 40. Now, if you geto 40+ on the verbal part of GMATprep you will not have problems on real GMAT because your english level is high independently of the level of questions you have practice by using OG. However, you should take and use GMAT prep to get and idea of your possible score. If you score more o less 650, you should expect to get a real scroe of 600. If you sccore 700+ you will not have problems and you will score something similar. My theory is that the level of the verbal part increased in the range 600-650, so GMATprep is now biased.

  14. Thanks all for your advices. gmatsimple, I've already done all what you say except that I didn't take the GMAT sets.
  15. Thanks for your advice adi_800. I completely agree with you that GMAT has vecome tough in verbal. I din't take manhattan tests because I read here that they are much difficult than real test. I also read that 1000 series are not representative of real questions, but you think opposite, so I'll probably try that sets. I study by using official material and I results didn't came to me so, maybe is time to study by using another approach.
