hi guys, Since everyone has been talking about re scoring I wonder if you can share some opinions on my case. I took TOEFL ibt for the 6th times last Dec 12 and my scores are R 27 L 25 S 23 W 28. I received fair, good,fair in speaking. I have learned from a friend who took the TSE last time and got 40, but after rescoring got 50. Now I am kind of thinking about going for re scoring too. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance

Hi guys, I am wondering on how can I try re scoring actually I wish to have my speaking and writing part re scored. I am both short on two parts. Got 22 on essay ( needs 24), and 23 on speaking ( needs 26). I just wanted to ask for much needed advise regarding my situation. What are my chances in case I go for re scoring? I feel that I should have gotten at least 24 in the writing part which unfortunately didn't show.

In my opinion, I think that considering an overall score would be the best. I believe that it is fair enough, and considering the amount of money we have already spent for the test. I cannot imagine if iever they would consider some alternatives, which in such case we need to spend again. Basing on the graph shown in ETS that has been posted here it is really ridiculous that we are measured in another way which in some way kinda contradict the guidelines that they have given.Though I am wondering what if they set a lower score, but since the ETS will be the one to rate that, so again they will formulate a different standard which will also appear to be beyond reach. So, again I am hoping that they would agree on an overall total score same as nurses, vets, PT's etc...

the review material for canada just says Therapeutic Choices I got mine at UBC bookstore though I haven't tried taking the exam since I moved in the US for a while. I did take my FPGEE last year Dec 2007 , and was lucky to have pass. My referrences here are; Shargel, Lippincott (pharmacology), Lehninger (biochem), Guyton( med physio). Manan Shroff has also been my guide for management since most of the questions about that subject was taken. Well, this is just my opinion, since I think it is quite imperative to do some thorough review about the basics. Most of the questions are taken from the basic sciences too. I studied Shargel last, and honestly I didn't have time left to do sample questions. For Fpgee, I would suggest that you do some review in chemistry too. Also I heard somebody who took the Canada Pharmacy Evaluating Exam side by side with FPGEE and he said the Evaluating exam is much easier than FPGEE :)). Okey hope that helps and goodluck.

hi pharma1800, If you are only to start now, and you wanted to sit for the December exam. I think that your chances is quite bleak since it is already September. Thinking that maybe there might be some discrepancies in your documents. I started processing my papers last year July. This is when I submitted my application after I receive my ECE report too. Then by August they send me a letter notifying of a discrepancy. September I receive examination permit which I never thought I would be able to finish. Anyways I think you can still submit your papers, but, don't hope too much that you can qualify for December exam. Most probably you might be scheduled for June 2009.

hello, I took my test too June 21 and the first question for independent is: 1. If you are to make an activity in your community what would that be? and how do you think it would help your community? and also I noticed they have already integrated the two format of the speaking part which have the reading passage and a listening one( campus situation and academic ). So that leaves the two other one on part 5 and six and both 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 are combination of campus situations and academic. And also on the campus situation with the reading passage and listening they added an additional 5 seconds :)). Lastly, the reading and listening part are both long unlike before. It was both composed of 5 parts :((. Good luck to all of us.

Hi Maguta, what do you mean you were able to get your license at an only 80 average on toefl? if I am picking this up correctly thus that mean that in your state one can practice eventhough they did not pass the toefl ( I mean all sections) but has an average of at least 80?
