  1. The school is IESE in Spain. From what I heard so far from other students is they rented out a video conference room which costs around $200-$250 per hour, which personally I think is way too much. Some did it at work who have have such a room available. I am looking for options before I go and pay $200 for a room.
  2. One of the schools I applied to is asking to do a video conference interview? Anybody has experience with doing video conference or can suggest something? I live in NY and called a few places that offer video conferences and they quote around $200 per hour (phone call charges not included). I also have a video camera at home. Look for suggestions....
  3. Sorry about your score. I don't know if this will help, but a lot of my friends who took the GMAT several times had great math scores and poor verbal. Of course you need to concentrate on the verbal. But one thing that I heard from everyone is that people forget that GMAT is a really a test of endurance, not only how long u study but how well you take it. So everyone tries their best on the math section and when verbal come around your brain is tired and that's where a lot get killed. Verbal for many tends to determine your final score. Try on the math section not to over stress yourself. You already proved that you can do well on this section, so take it easy. Take the 10 min break in between the sections and really relax yourself. Believe me it helps. So then when you start your verbal you are all ready and refreshed. GMAT is a bit like a race. Pace yourself and you will do well. Good luck!
  4. I am soo excited about going to ESADE!!! I found out this Thanksgiving and it totally made my holidays. Even thought my GMAT was very average 640, I had a good application, great recommendations, a great interview, I speak a few languages and it helped that my undergrad was at NYU. I think the one thing I consistently heard from European admin people is that you really need to stand out on your apps. Everyone who is applying to top tier schools sound basically the same: great company, great grades and great GMAT. So the question is what makes you differant? One alumni at IESE said the best part of his app was when he bought an old house and the entire summer worked on renovating it. That's cool and differant. In my case, they loved the fact that I am super creative. I dance, write poetry, draw, and play the piano, which actually helps me in my job on a day-to-day basis. Since it's a Spanish school they thought the fact that I dance flamenco is very cool. ( I am not Spanish). The only 'ouch' point with the school is the tuition. It's 52.000 euro which does not include living expenses. Now I have to figure out how to finance this, but school does really helpful when it come to financial aid. I hope this help!
  5. Has anybody used any tutoring services? If you have could you please recommend someone?
  6. I know what you mean. I just registered 2 days ago for the 23 of Oct and starting to freak out a bit. My suggestion to u is that if u still plan to take the test in Oct u must register now. The only dates really left are 30 and 31st. Good Luck!
  7. If it is 6:27 in the evening on a certain day, what time in the morning was it exactly 2,880,717 minutes earlier? (Assume standard time in one location.) (B) 6:24 © 6:27 (D) 6:30 (E) 6:32 See Answer below:
  8. In order to increase revenues, an airport plans to change the parking fees it charges at its hourly parking lots. Rather than charging $2.00 for the first two-hour period, or part thereof, and $1.00 for each hour thereafter, the airport will charge $4.00 for the first four-hour period, or part thereof, and $1.00 for each hour thereafter. Which of the following is a consideration that, if true, suggest that the plan will be successful in increasing revenues? (A) Very few people who park their cars at the hourly parking lot at the airport leave their cars for more than two hours at a time. (B) Over the past several years, the cost to the airport of operating its hourly parking facilities has been greater than the revenues it has received from them. © People who leave their cars at the airport while on a trip generally park their cars in lots that charge by the day rather than by the hour. (D) A significant portion of the money spent to operate the airport parking lot is spent to maintain the facilities rather than to pay the salaries of the personnel who collect the parking fees. (E) The hourly parking lots at the airport have recently been expanded and are therefore rarely filled to capacity.
  9. Advertisement: The world's best coffee beans come from Colombia. The more Colombian beans in a blend of coffee, the better the blend, and no company purchases more Colombian beans than Kreemo Coffee, Inc. So it only stands to reason that if you buy a can of Kreemo's coffee, you're buying the best blended coffee available today. The reasoning of the argument in the advertisement is flawed because it overlooks the possibility that (A) the equipment used by Kreemo to blend and package its coffee is no different from that used by most other coffee producers (B) not all of Kreemo's competitors use Colombian coffee beans in the blends of coffee they sell © Kreemo sells more coffee than does any other company (D) Kreemo's coffee is the most expensive blended coffee available today (E) the best unblended coffee is better than the best blended coffee
  10. 1)Mr. Kramer, the losing candidate in a two-candidate election, received 942,568 votes, which was exactly 40 percent of all the votes cast. Approximately what percent of the remaining votes would he need to have received in order to have won at least 50 percent of all the votes cast? (A) 10% (B) 12% © 15% (D) 17% (E) 20%
  11. The correct answers according to the answer sheet for this exam are: 1)C 2)D
  12. When should you start really practicing AWA as in how long before the test date? I have been studying the GMAT since July, but have done no work on AWA since it graded separately and seem like a very basic thing to do. What are everyone's thoughts?:hmm:
