  1. Sorry i was busy with MPJE, I am a Pharmacist today as i passed the mpje and my license is active on the board website. What a relief . coming back to the question .Yes i did go through the prontopass last minute review but not at the last minute but about 1 week to 10 days before the exam and it is very useful. However, like i said earlier ,memorizing questions in the last minute is not good . Thanx again forum
  2. Hi! The audio cd has a classroom scenario where the prof. of therapeutics is discussing the topics(epilepsy, diabetes etc.,)with his students, each chapter is about 1 hour .It is very interactive and i felt like i was sitting in a class myself. The interactions through cytochrome450 is very well covered in this cd, it is easy to understand. I was scratching my head for the cyt interactions, for, how to remember? the whole chart. But this cd along with the poster solved my problem. I hope i have answered your question.
  3. Thanks Pinky , if you have any questions i would be glad to answer them.
  4. I recently passed NAPLEX with a score of 121 for which i would like to thank this forum and its members. I did 6 months full-time internship while i prepared . I would like to share with the future test takers how i prepared for it. 1) I printed the blue print and noted down which books have the concerned material.I realised that there is no single book which covered all the syllabus . I think APHA has most of the topics covered and is a must read book. Besides, i found that prontopass helps to retain the same, in a better way .The combination gives synergistic effect. I did stocklosa or ansel for calculations (only the topics mentioned in the blue print)+ prontopass calculation which is excellent. I found Kaplan very crisp for some topics in which APHA makes it difficult to remember. I reviewed pharmacology of individual drugs with brand names and the most important side effects from kaplan. More important for some drug therapeutic guidelines like cardiac and diabetic, kaplan is good for review.Drug information resources chart of kaplan was very useful and biostatists too. I used shargel for OTC,Bio-pharmaceutics,clinical labs etc., Drug information hand-book by lexi-comp is very useful for looking into details of individual monographs. It appears like too many books but if you finish apha first then you find that there is lot of time. I took pre-naplex as soon as i finished APHA once, i got 55 which was about 45 days before the exam, i noted down the areas of weakness and gave it again 15 days before i got 98 . The most important thing is the last 4 days plan .My friend suggested this and i too found it to be very useful. 1 day before the exam i didn't touch the book . 3 days before that just looked at therapies of the all the chapters and do Q&A for all chapters from APHA only. During breaks I would listen to Prontopass Audio cd,which had very big impact bcos it makes you think, instead of memorizing. Don't do one liner questions during this time . I thank the forum again. Good luck

  16. Hello, I want to do internship in Atlanta, Georgia . However due to the practical exam and no information on the practical exam anywhere, i am changing my plans. Can anybody please throw some light on it?
  17. While doing the practise tests (try atleast 2 or 3 like barrons, kaplan's or official Toefl guide etc.,) practise in a particular pattern like have this format in your mind . 1)To start with 2)points 1 to 3 3) these are the reasons why i took this decision(to conclude and say this exactly in the last 10 seconds and stop) Practise in this pattern and the 3 reasons must be mentioned without fail. For academic section, the time is very less and the matter to be condensed is very large isn't it ? infact, it is not so. Understand the question very carefully and just answer the question, there is no need to explain the whole academic session.I used to write down in the form of a flow chart while listening on the paper given. Then while speaking, follow the pattern and include the points or the flow chart jotted down earlier. All the best
  18. I think practise is the key and being a language, it takes longer time to see the evidence of improvment in your work. Hence practise for a longer period yields results. Do lot of practise tests, use a recorder like your cell phone while doing the practise tests. Hear the example versions given in the book and keep it in mind . Listen to news as many times in a day as possible whether you are in car, at home or elsewhere . Read newspapers especially the editorial column without fail as it gives the opinion of an individual which is of same pattern as TOEFL.Mark down the difficult words in a book and find the meaning in the dictionary and write it down . Do the GRE Barrons word list, memorise the word list and brush it every day until the exam. Thes are some of the things i did, hope it is useful to you.
  19. There is no need to apply for the certificate. As you have given NABP as a recepient of the TOEFL scores, after 4-6 weeks of receiving the score the NABP will post you the FPGEC certificate which is useful in submitting your internship application.
  20. What do you think went wrong? which material did you go through? how much time did you devote for the exam? is there anything you might have done different if you knew about the result earlier? sorry i don't intend to pester you, but if you don't want this to be repeated to others you can share your ideas and do us a favour. All the best next time.
  21. Thanks and wish you the same.:)
  22. I passed FPGEC in dec 2008 and now in my 4th attempt i cleared the TOEFL. Surprisingly my problem was the writing section for which i always used to get 22 but by gods grace this time i got 24. I am releived and am more happy as compared to passing the FPGEC itself. Its really a harrassment that you have to go through each time. I am so releived now . Thank god .
  23. I have got my TOEFL result today and i got the required score. I called the NABP and they said it will take 4-6 weeks to get the FPGEC certificate. I heard that within 2 weeks my name will be online on the NABP website, can this be useful to start internship in any state or i need the original certificate. How much time does it take to get FPGEC certificate? Those who have gone through this stage, can you please help .
  24. Yahoooooooooooooo! I got 103 , i needed 24 in writing and i got it this time. I got R-25,L-28, S-26, W-24 . This was my 4th attempt and i always got 22 in writing . This time i attribute it to reading the GRE wordlist and bombarding my essay with those words. Besides, the analytical writing section of the barrons GRE was very helpful improving my sentence framing and using of comma, fullstop and other areas of writing. I had no problems with other sections .Thank god i am done with TOEFL and never have to look back at it again. One more observation that i want to share is that, i could have reduced the number of attempts that i gave, had i known my mistake or area of weakness . I finally realised and thank god for that. All the best and never loose hope.
