  1. Same question from me. I have the Kaplan florida law review, University of florida's federal and state review and the Federal Pharmacy Reiss and Hall book. Is it necessary to review all 3 references?
  2. 120 Calculations Review for NAPLEX | Pharmacy Licensure and Exams | Student Doctor Network GOOD LUCK!!!
  3. I passed! :) My score for the naplex was 110. I scored 99 on the prenaplex, which I took about 3 weeks earlier. For what it's worth, I studied mostly from Kaplan. I did the questions from APHA and only read the chapters that I felt I needed to review. I probably did a third of the questions from A&L. For math, I did the 120 Question pdf that is being shared on this site. I did not have time to review pharmaceutics and probably did not study stats enough. I have a 6 month old baby at home, so my studying time was extremely limited. I tried to be focused, knowing math was impt and clinical stuff was going to probably be weighed more than pharmaceutics/compounding. Thankfully,it worked out. For free practice questions, check out: chasenaplex.com rxprep.com/quiz.aspx naplexdigest.com For free study notes, search: studystack.com quizlet.com Now, time for law. Good luck to those of you who have to still write the exam. Thanks to those who offered me advice during my preparation!
  4. At what strength does hydrocortisone become prescription?
  5. Are there complicated kinetics questions which require the use of a scientific calculator?
  6. Are the questions in APHA similar to the Naplex?
  7. i just ordered the kaplan review ... do you know if kaplan covers it?
  8. Is there a chart or quick link that anybody knows of for hiv treatment, cd4 count explanation and opportunistic infection treatment? Would the poster from prontopass be enough? Thanks!!
  9. Is the CPR (Shargel) similar to the APHA 6th ed? I have the CPR already. Should I buy the APHA?
  10. That is good, but you're missing the management portion. Consider adding Manan's Management book.
  11. Does anybody know the password to open the Comprehensive CPR pdf file? I've downloaded the file, but I can't open it without a password. Thanks in advance for your help!
  12. Does anybody know if a pharmacy technician position would count towards the hours needed for internship? Florida state requires 3 months of formal internship and 9 months of work experience. So far I haven't had any luck in finding a position. I'm wondering if I should just start applying for a technician position. Has anybody else done this?
  13. I'm in Florida and am having a tough time getting an internship. I've applied mostly to hospitals, but everybody wants a licensed Pharmacist. I think the 2080 hours required before licensure prevents pharmacies from hiring foreign grads. Any recommendations or advice??
  14. For me, the Manan Shroff Theory book was an easy read, but was very fragmented. It does however, guide you in the right direction, especially for the basics. It tends to fill in some of the gaps that the CPR does not cover. When information was not detailed enough for me, I would supplement the book with information found on the internet. I would print the information and insert it into the Manan Theory book. By the end, I had made myself a good study guide. I would suggest you buy it, but when information seems scant, you should supplement it with other resources.
  15. Yahoo … I passed with a score of 123!!!! I am so happy and relieved. April test-takers, for what it’s worth, the following is what I did. In terms of my background, I graduated 10 years ago, and had been working as a Cardiology Hospital Pharmacist for the last 10 years in Canada. I studied for just over six weeks, but it was solid studying from 8am to 10pm on most days. That was very stressful, I would suggest starting earlier, to make it easier. My resources included: - CPR - Manan Shroff (full set which includes Management and Calculations) - Dutta - USMLE Step One (from library) - Clinical Pharmacology Made Ridiculously Simple - Physiology text (mine from school) - Organic Chemistry text (from library) - Internet to clarify anything not found in my textbooks My advice is to make a schedule and STICK to it. 1. CPR: I spent just under 3 weeks reading CPR. Some chapters take more time than others, for example immunology. I read the CPR in its entirety - for me, I would not have felt comfortable skipping chapters. Part 1 of the CPR is most important (ie. Immunology, biochem, microbiology, med chem) - I read those chapters twice, some three times. I made study notes for the chapters I found difficult - this helped me to understand things. 2. Dutta: This is a great book. It covers the topics which are focused on in the blueprint - it guides you in the right direction. Some of the questions are tough, but try to understand the logic behind the explanations. Dutta focuses on the basics (biochem, micro, immunology, med chem, organic chem, cardiology, asthma and diabetes) 3. Manan Shroff: I found these books hard to read, they don’t flow well. I read the FPGEE theory book, but did not read the NAPLEX theory book, nor did I do the questions. I read the Management book in detail, however it did not have enough time to do the management questions. I completed most of the calculations book … remember there are no calculators and you must memorize the formulas. 4. USMLE: This is a study guide for med students. I took it out on loan from the local library. It offers helpful memory mnemonics for a wide variety of subjects. I would recommend this book - most libraries carry it. 5. Pharmacology Made Ridiculously Simple: This is like an abbreviated version of Lippincotts. It has great charts and information, but is much smaller, therefore easier to read, especially if time is limited. I would check this forum daily - it is helpful. Take notes or print entries that seem useful. I printed many entries that I found useful and would refer to them while I was studying. It can be very lonely when you feel like you’re the only one studying. This forum presents a good community. Good luck to you!
