  5. 1220:Quants(750) Verbal (470) Hi there guys: i just got back after giving the GRE. I have scored OK in maths 750, but i am very dissapointed with the verbal part. i have prepared hard and i know i could have done better. what do u guys think of my score? Lemme walk u thru my test. I arrived at the testing centre earlier than i was supposed to. The AWA was 1st to be encountered. The issue was on the topic of tradition vs modernilization. I suppose it went well. The argument presented some obstacles and in comparison to the issue i messed it up a bit. But i was happy as i didnt write much essays so i thought as per that touchstone i did well. Next was the 10 min break and i took it. After the break i was confronted with the verbal section and this proved to be the real sting in my back. Although i had prepared reasonably well with completing all the baroons words and taking tests but this was something different. The section was tough and i encountered some words which i had never seen. This proved to be my undoing and with the clock ticking away i had nothing to do but guess. The 5 question RC went well but the 2 two questions RCs were real difficult. I stumbled on them but still i tried hard and i thought i had answered enough questions correctly to get a verbal score of above 500. In the quants section i started well i thought the questions upto the 15th question were pretty easy. But just when that thought came to my mind i was confronted by a real stinger and it took almost 5 minutes of mine and from then on i just hurried and i am pretty sure i did make a pretty silly mistake or two in the end. I am planning to apply to CLEMSON UNIVERSITY, UT austin and University of connecticut. I am a chemical engineer and planning to do masters with specialization in Environmental and Process Engineering. is the score right for me or should i retake it?
