  1. Hi!!! Iam plannin on givin GMAT in July..my 2nd attempt..just wanna know if there is anyone with me in Mumbai......it would be great if we could catch up and study....lets crack GMAT together!!
  2. for the remainder of 3x +1 divided by 10 to be 0, x = 3, 13, 23,33( 3x-> the unit digit has be to 9) from Statement A, it is clear x can never take these values, so the remainder can never be zero!..so A is sufficient from Statement B, it is not clear as x can take any value greater than 4, so B is not sufficient Eliminating choices, C, D, E, the only answer option is A
  3. (sqrt3 - sqrt2)^2= 3- 2* sqrt3 * sqrt2 + 2 = 5 - 2 * sqrt3 * sqrt2 Now consider: 1/(5- (2* sqrt3 * sqrt 2)) Mutliply and divide by 5 + 2 * sqrt3 * sqrt2 (5 + 2 * sqrt3 * sqrt2)/ ( 25- (4* 3*2)) = 5 + 2 sqrt 6 Answer E
  4. x+y+z= 0 x+2y + 3z = 0 From both statements: y+2z=0 y= -2z substituting in statement 1: x-2z+z=0 -> x-z=0 -> x=z Therefore x/y= -(1/2) answer: A
  5. pls can someone advise on approx how many hours daily should be put in dto actually crack GMAT? i work six days a week..so its very difficult for me to put in more than 2 hours daily expect Sundays..at this rate how many months would it take for me to actually get a good score?

  7. ok.. this question was in my GMAT exam which i screwed up!! 1. Let n be any random number from 1 to 60(60 included). Then what is the probability that (n(n+1)(n+2)(n+3)) is divisible by 6? a. 1/2 b.1/3 c. 2/3 d. 1/6
  8. thanks adexplos....for your encourgement..iam thinking of when to give the test next..need to be very careful this time..so will need to brush a lot of things and plan accordingly..i guess end of march is the deadline for most of the good BSchools in Australia and Paris...where i want to study..so will take my own time..:)
  9. Hey..just finished my GMAT exam today..scored only a disappointing 540. i knew by the end of it where i went wrong, there was no proper time management , also some of the GMAT quant questions were very difficult( there was some questions on probaility and arithmetic mean which I could not understand head or tail ...) . I could not finish the quant section ..left 5 questions ..and th verbal section also I left 1 question. I had scored a repeated score between 640- 670 in the GMAT Prep tests, but the actual exam felt even more difficult. I guess i need to rise up from the ashes and start all over again..:blush:and this time I will give all my energies into QA with DS as my focus. Also I need to give more practise tests and stop taking tension before exams..i have this weird phobia abou giving exams..it swtiches me off..!!
  10. 1. "However much United States Voters may agree that......" this ans is said to be correct in OG but iam confused regarding when to use "much" and "many"...pls clarify
  11. pls explain how to find the number of digits of an exponent,,,don't know that..:)
  12. Hi JOhn...iam giving the OAs..iam just waiting for the ans from others ... 1. b 2. b 3. b Iam not getting how to solve them
  13. Q3 at a certain instant in timr the number of cars,N,travelling on a portion of a certain highway can be N = (260Ld)/(600 + S^2) where , L = No. of the lanes in the same direction d= lenght of the portion of the highway in feet s = avg. speed of the cars in miles per hour. Based on the formula what is the estimated no. of cars travelling on a 1/2 mile portion of the highway if the highway has 2 lanes in the same direction and the average speed of the cars is 40 mph? (5280 feet = 1 mile) A) 155 B) 96 C) 80 D) 48 E) 24 When we substitute the values: N= (260 * 2 * 2640 )/ (600 + 1600), the answer does not come out to be the same
  14. Hey vinhan...How dd u get :" x * 7/2w in the next statement after finding out the ratio"
  15. for Ques3. The answer I get is 99 , when you join all the sides of the figure given , you will get a rectangle with the width as 9 + 4 ( which you need to derive from the figure) and length 9. Therefore Area of the Rectangle- Area of the 2 smaller triangles = 99
