Hello , I need to take TOEFL before my admission deadlines. The deadlines are mostly starting end of month - oct. I checked for the toefl dates and the dates available for coming week require me to travel to other states , which will cost me atleast twice the fees for toefl. The website does not list the dates between Sep 23 and oct 12 2012. Does this mean that there will be no toefl conducted during these dates? Should I wait till the toefl updates / opens the dates for above mentioned period? On the toefl wesite , the chart with location / dates reads that it was updated on 14th sep. Do they update these dates weekely? Please help!!!!

Hello All, I took Gmat Prep today and its the first time I took gmatprep or any other test ever. I am pretty good at quants and could score 49. Still I got some 12 incorrects and I know my weak areas in maths and I am about to start preparing them..... However I seem to have a very bad reading speed and could not complete the verbal (I had to 5 questions in last 15 secs....). I answeres 19 of them incorrectly , there were a few silly mistakes , the major problem I observed is my reading speed only... Could you please suggest a way to tackle verbal .....? Also , could you plaese tell me if the OG Verbal reviw has the same set of questions as the main OG book? Also , since I have 2 months , out of which I have around 20 leaves , do you think I should slow down on math for the time being? I am done with OG11 , I am planning re-solve it though , then I may go for OG10. I am plannig to write GMAT in the month of may '09... Waiting for your suggestions .... Thanks a lot ......

Hello guys, I took KAPLAN 1 today and scored 520 (36 / 23):mad:. I am half way through with OG 11 and Manhattan SC. I have been preparing for GMAT for last 15 days or so.... Please let me know if this score is good / bad for now... I am certainly not happy with the score. Thanks Amol

OG stands for Official guide and is published by GMAC , the governing authority. It is a bit simpler than actual GMAT but gives a clear idea of gMAT question types. Thanks Amol

Hey Doctortt, I am also new to this forum ; however I happen to know the answeres to your queries. 1.how many times you can take the GMAT? There is no such limit. 2.Is it recommended to attend to a class as well as study on your own? I wrote GMAT without any external help or any book and scored 610. Now I am preparing to write it agin in the month of March 09. I dont really think tutions may help me. Its personal choice , if you think you are not good at it , you may look out for some help. Ithink there are better books available than the ones you mentioned. I have started with OG11 , OG10. You may check other threads. will help. Thanks Amol

Hey Guys, I am planning to take GMAT in March 09. DO you think it is a good idae to go for MBA when we are right in the middle of recession? I am working with an IT firm which pays really good and I dont really want to be any unwaned situation? Could somebody tell me if there is any descend in the number of applications to the US B-scholls this year form the foreign students? Thanks Amol

Hey Ichicago, Nice to hear from you. I have started the preparation with OG11 and Manhattan scentence correction book. I am going to start with a test series , one evry weekend. I think I scored badly the last time , because I did not write even a single test before the actual GMAT. Thanks Amol

Hi this is Amol, I wrote GMAT sometime back , almost a year ago. Scored really bad , around 610. I think I have identified the problem areas, I did not have enough practice and I was not confertable at the test centre. I am planning to take GMAT again , maybe March 09. Lets see. Thanks Amol
