  1. I guess right now God really bless your TOEFL raters:) I hope you all the best and the future test takers. Indeed, it is a rough road to take.
  2. Thanks! Yes I am in the US. I'm lucky because I do not need sponsorship. Right now I am waiting to be exempted from internship in MI and hoping that I am able to take NAPLEX right away.
  3. Ok I said "do your best and pray". Just to tell you, I am a Christian and prayers work for me. No offense. God bless you. I hope you pass the exam.
  4. Thank you! Before taking the exam, I was praying that I will be able to do well especially in speaking. After the exam, I was praying for the rater of the exam that he/she will be considerate in giving scores. If you received a score lower than you expected, do not hesitate to ask for rescoring. So, do your best and pray for the rater after.
  5. scores: R=26 L=28 S=28 (from 22):) W=25 I could not believe how much my score in speaking went up from 22 to 28. I took the exam on March 7th. It was my 3rd attempt. I thank God that I finally passed it. I even scored 2 pts higher. On my first exam, I was very nervous when I started the speaking section. I realized after the exam that the speaking questions were not that hard and I was nervous for no reason at all. My score in speaking was 23 only. I asked for rescoring just in case but it did not change. On my 2nd attempt, I did not get enough sleep the night before. I barely had 4 hrs of sleep. It was because I tried to read few essays before going to sleep. During the exam, my mind was floating. As expected, I only scored 97/120 and 24 in speaking. However on my last exam, I made sure I had enough sleep. I had at least 8 hrs of sleep. I felt so good when I woke and during the exam. The day before March 7th though, I went through the speaking tips of Jason Renshaw. You can visit his online school. It is really very helpful. I also used the Barrons and Kaplan books for the whole preparation of this exam. When I received my score for the 3rd attempt, I only got 22 in speaking! I was very disappointed because I knew I did very well. I did not hesitate to ask for rescoring again. So, I finally received what I deserve, 28! My tips: Prepare, have enough sleep the night before and relax during the exam.:) BTW, english is not my first language but I've been living in an english speaking country for almost 6 yrs now. That is an advantage for me. I can't wait for my FPGEC certificate. I am really grateful and happy! One step closer to obtaining my Ph license.

  7. Hi Osman, Pharmacists licensed in Canada are exempted from internship in Michigan as long as they provide proof of license and work experience in Canada (at least 1000 work hrs). I was just suggesting Canadian pharmacists who wants to practice in other states other than MI to apply in MI first then transfer the Naplex score to the state they want to work. In this case, they are able to take the Naplex first. If the state requires more than 1000 hrs, let us say 1500 hrs, then there is a possibility to only work 500 hrs internship. They have to check with their respective state board of pharmacy though. Jaken
  8. Hello juanfrankiko! I would like to ask how many nurses are they going to hire? My brother is somewhat hesitant that he dint make it because when he went for the interview in Mla, there were many of them. Thanks.
  9. We are on exact same boat. Do you have FPGEC certificate yet? I am also having a hard time looking for internship in MA. I emailed PCS (Cathie)the other day to inquire abt the internship hrs. We only have to make up 500 hours of internship in MA. But she actually did not answer all my questions. She even confused me when she replied back to my 2nd email that I only need 300 more hrs and not 500 hrs. When I called MI to double check about score transfer, the guy was just rude to me. He told me why should I just take the NAPLEX in the state where I want to practice and it is stupid for me to do a score transfer. I did not want to talk to him any longer so I hang up. If you have any information please let me know too.
  10. Hi! I am actually looking for internship myself too. I applied online. Check out the website of pharmacy chains like Safeway, Albertson, SuperValu, Walgreens, CVS, WalMArt or RiteAid. Go to RxInsider. From my experience, there are more openings in the West Coast. I can not move there because of my family. My friend from Virginia moved to Seattle,Washington. She got hired by Safeway. My other friend is with Albertson. Both of them were sponsored from PI. Im not sure how it is now because of the economy.
  11. Hi! yes, NH does not require intern license nor FPGEC certificate for internship. However, most companies still prefer foreign grads with FPGEC certificate. If you have license in MA you can always transfer it to NH or vice versa. That is exactly what I am planning to do depends where I can get the first offer. I was planning to take TOEFL on FEb 21 but maybe March 7. I have not registered yet. I hope we could help each other. Private message me if you guys are willing to.
  12. Hi MDpharma, You check with the State where you want to practice. Usually you need to apply for intern license after receiving the FPGEC certificate. Some states do not require intern license. Start contacting pharmacies if you need sponsorship. They require FPGEC cert and intern license.
  13. The recruiter from East coast informed me to visit SUPERVALU Pharmacies: Pharmacy Careers or contact James Murray to apply for West Coast. She did not give me his telephone number or address though.
  14. Hi Aussiepharmer, In Canada, the licensure exam consists of parts I (Multiple choice) and II (Objective Structured Clinical Examination or OSCE). OSCE is to test candidates on both communication skills and pharmaceutical knowledge. It is a simulation of a pharmacy setting wherein there is an actor, being a patient, a doctor or a caregiver, presenting problem and the candidate, being the pharmacist, has to solve the problem by giving advice or recommending OTC for example. It consists of around 12 stations and it is timed per station. The assessors are licensed pharmacists. I truly believe that this is a better way to test communication skills for pharmacists and not the 26 passing score for TOEFLibt in the US. Same as here, there is a shortage of pharmacists in Canada and they pay up to $100 an hour plus mileage for relief works. Canadian and US dollars were almost the same but not sure now because of the economy. I am looking forward though to be a licensed pharmacist in the US. I was just frustrated with the TOEFLibt. I am waiting for the rescore report in the mail. I hope they will consider IELTS. In IELTS, you talk to real people and not the computer. Hi Nissi08, Yes, you can register for MA internship with just the EE number from NABP. Marvel135 gave you the link. It takes only up to 3 days to process it from the day PCS receives it. I suggest though to take the TOEFLibt asap. They still prefer to hire FPGEC certificate holder for internship. Goodluck!
  15. Hello there! I want to ask if you are a Canadian pharmacy licensee. If so, are you aware that Canadian pharmacists are exempted for 1000 hrs internship in Michigan? If you want to apply in MI first then transfer your internship hours or license to the state you want to stay. In that case you save 1000 hrs of internship. Just a suggestion.
  16. Hi Smakmee, I am planning to take TOEFL on Feb 21. I failed speaking on my first try. I am very disappointed with ETS. I have been practicing pharmacy in Canada for 5 years. In Canada, IELTS is accepted. I wonder why it is not here in the States. Pharmacy practice is much better there than here. The only reason I move here in the States is my family. I have to go through these exams again. Well, Goodluck to us!
  17. Hi Smakmee, We are on the same boat. I passed FPGEE and no TOEFL yet. I just registered with MA board of pharmacy for internship. I started looking for internship this month too. I submitted resumes to the big chain of pharmacies around but no response yet. One recruiter offered me in Lebanon,NH hospital pharm. They are willing to accept intern with sign-on bonus and relocation expenses paid. It is too far and I have family so I did not accept it yet. Right now I am just going to concentrate on my TOEFL. It is really hard to find job now because of the recession. Goodluck to us!
  18. Hi Smakmee, I'm from Massachusetts too. I just started looking for internship position but no positive result yet. How long have you been looking for one? I hope we could help each other. Thank you.
  19. Hi Laura.pharm, May I know which part of US there is opening? Yesterday the recruiter from Supervalu emailed me saying that there is no opening in the EAST coast. The only opening for foreign trained pharmacists is in the West Coast. I am actually looking for internship position. I do not need sponsorship because Im an immigrant. Im not sure if they sponsor H1visa.
  20. Hello everyone! I am seeking for the contact information of the person to apply for pharmacy internship at Target pharmacy. Could anyone please let me know? Thank you very much.
