Hi Kaveri,
The interviews were shorter than I thought and pharmacy chiefs like to ask a common question - Have you had any retail/hospital experience? You can tell them that you had some back at your home country etc, etc. They could also ask what you have done in the past so try to give a brief summary of your educational background. It won't hurt if you bring some copies of your CV or resumes. In my opinion, the interviewers care more about the candidate's communication skills rather than the degrees. I was interviewed by two pharmacies, one is hospital pharmacy and one independent nursing home pharmacy. The nursing home pharmacy allowed me to work the next day once I purchased my own liability insurance, where I got from Professional Liability Insurance, malpractice insurance for healthcare and counseling professionals.. It cost me $140 a year with a coverage of 1-3 million dollars. On the other hand, the hospital pharmacy had to file a report to compliance department of its affiliated university to make sure everything would go by the 'book'. So based on my experience, it looks that independent pharmacy is relatively easier to enter. Four days after I started my internship there, the owner of the pharmacy decided to pay me.
