  4. I would say halfway between good and very good.
  5. As far as placement is concerned, I assure you that columbia is much better than cornell.. i dont really know much about USC.. the only thing that I am concerned about is the funding issue at columbia..
  6. so does that mean you have to pay for the first semester?
  7. kushagra452 I just realized that realized that you are also on the Columbia SEAS Cornell Engg (MEng) ยป thread. It seems as if we are both applying to the same schools. I am applying for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Ga Tech. They also told me they will update the status of the website next week. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Best of Luck
  8. I was also accepted to Columbia Meng program but no mention of financial aid. I have no idea how one applies to TA/RA positions, esp. from very far away. Please advice. Best of Luck
  9. kushagra452: Did you decide where to attend? Also, did you get any TA/RA from Columbia? How does one apply for that?
  10. I contacted Ga Tech on Monday over the phone. I was told the admissions committee has looked at all the applications and they will be sending results next week after they come back from spring break. So, lets be patient and GOOD LUCK. What program are you applying to?
  11. so i got rejected from MIT today. :( As far as I am concerned, its their F'g loss..
  12. If I were you, I would go to Columbia. Cornell is too far and Stanford, as you said, is too expensive.
  13. Did you contact any professors regarding your interest to work with them before you applied. I was just curious if I should start doing the same. Thanks again..
  14. Congratulations.. I would also wait for Standford only if I were you, and chances are, if you got in GA Tech, you will definitely get into Stanford..How did you hear about your GA Tech admission and when did you apply. Please share your stats as well..
  15. Hi, Congratulations!!! I have applied to Columbia MEng program as well and I am awaiting a reply. When did you hear from them and how long did it take to process you application. I am anxious to hear as well.. As far as a comparison between Columbia vs Cornell, I would say that columbia is a better option, but both are still excellent programs and you should feel very proud of yourself for your achievement. Please post some info on your scores as well... Thanks and Good luck..
  16. When did you apply? and to what program. Can you please let me know. Thanks.
  17. Me too. I wonder if you think its ok to call them and inquire on the status. I called one school today and the lady I spoke with pulled my application file out and said, "Oh, this has been complete since NOVEMBER. I will send it for review right away". I couldn't believe it. This whole time I waiting and wiating and my completed application is just sitting there. But i still think MIT is more professional.. or not!
  18. I think you can check the status of your application on their website.
  19. I was visiting another graduate school forum website and somebody there said that if you have a blue box on your application status page with the following information, you have already been admitted. (Admit Term Academic Career Academic Program Application Nbr Application Date) Frankly, I think this is wishful thinking because I have had this on my status page since I submitted my application. But I cannot help thinking otherwise. If you applied to UM - Ann Arbor, please comment. Thanks!
  20. I applied to the Mechanical Engineering program in January but still have not heard anything yet. Good Luck.
  21. Sorry to hear that.. I applied to mechanical engineering masters.. i am still waiting for results..
  22. This is very bad news for everyone in this forum as most of the people who have decided to go back to school are people with excellent credentials who were making excellent salaries in wall street. This is the competition!
