  1. Q2 "... than intense riots broke out near the bus station." sounds odd to me. It could have been correct if it were "... than the breaking out of intense riots near the bus station." What do you say ?
  2. I second adi_800. For question1 the answer should be D.
  3. Congratulations for the awesome score !!!!!! [clap]
  4. IMO D. (A) Pepper is a profitable crop only if it is grown on a large scale. - Nowhere mentioned in the argument. (B) World consumption of pepper has been unusually high for three years. - The situation described in the question can happen even in case of normal consumption levels. © World production of pepper will return to previous levels once normal weather returns. - Weather condition is not the only reason for lower pepper production. (D) Surplus stocks of pepper have been reduced in the past three years. - "world production of pepper has been running well below worldwide sales for three years" indicates production (E) The profits that the growers of pepper have made in the past three years have been unprecedented. - Not supported by the question.
  5. Agree with ankitvijay. One more point: instead of enlarging, the range will be shifted to northern regions.
  6. IMO D. Already explained by 12rk34.
  7. Completely agree with adi_800. C should be the answer.
  8. As madhur and sudeep have explained, 'a practice ......prohibited' is a modifier modifying 'the dissemination of democratic principles'. To check for S-V agreement, you can remove all the modifiers in the sentence, as shown below: - Rallies organised in conjuction with the dissemination of democratic principles, a practice that Communist chinese leaders once prohibited, is I hope it helps.
  9. Only D contains the noun 'Harold Macmillan' that the initial phrase is modifying.
  10. D is wrong because it suggests that the theory contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs. .... (D) in support of the theory that global forest fires were ignited by a meteorite impact and that contributed to the extinction ....... Only B corrects all the errors.
  11. IMO E. A - Rallies organised in conjuction with the dissemination of democratic principles which was once prohibited by the Communist Chinese leaders, are - Rallies are not beginning to take shape. WRONG. B- Rallies organised in conjuction with the dissemination of democratic principles, a practice that Communist chinese leaders once prohibited, is - s-v agreement problem. WRONG. C- Organising rallies in conjuction with the dissemination of democratic principles, as once prohibited by Communist Chinese, is - Organising rallies is not beginning to take shape. 'as' is redundant. WRONG D- Communist chinese leaders once prohibited organising rallies in conjuction with the dissemination of democratic principles, but they are - 'they' is ambiguous and can refer to leaders or principles. WRONG E- Communist Chinese leaders once prohibited organising rallies in conjuction with the dissemination of democratic principles, but such principles are - Use of 'such principles' removes ambiguity and make it clear that priciples are beginning to take shape.
  12. What's the OA rupu, is it A or B ?
  13. :2cents: (D) Middle-class elderly people are more likely to join organizations than are economically disadvantaged elderly people. It provides an explanation for why the organization mostly consists of middle-class elderly people, but not for why the organization is not committed to help economically disadvantaged elderly people. (E) People usually join organizations whose purpose is to further the economic, political, or social interests of their members Middle-class elderly people are joining the organization because the organization's purpose is to further middle-class elderly people's interests. This statement strengthens the argument that the organization is biased to middle-class elderly people.
