I think UCL is a very good and prestigious school. It might even be better than LSE (or Top 10 US School) in Labor Economics. Plus, I remember they had really good placements. All in all, it really depends in your academic interests. Other than that, you can't make a bad choice with this set.

No tuition waiver:( I am looking for external funding, but unfortunately there aren't many options.

From year 3 onwards (which they call "phase 2") they offer full funding.

I have just received an offer, off the waitlist, with no funding for years 1 and 2. That might mean that you are going to find out soon enough... Though it might not.

A good paper definitely helps, especially if you are on the margin of being admitted, in which case adcoms start to "nitpick" (sorry for lack of a better word) and try to find things that differentiate otherwise equal applicants.

The link is quite creepy. I wonder though, do these performance enhancers really work, and if they do, will there be a time when these will be banned for non-entertainment use? Imagine having to take a blood test before a prelim... :crazy:
