Research Experience: 2 years RA experience for 1 professor, no publications Research Interests: Applied micro, Behavioral econ SOP: More or less polished, minor changes for each school. I found 1 small typo in 1 school's SOP after submitting. RESULTS: Attending: MIT Acceptances: Berkeley, Yale, Chicago, MIT, Caltech, UCSD, Cornell (no funding), NYU Stern Waitlists: NYU Rejections: HBS, UPenn, Columbia, NYU, MIT GSB, Harvard, Princeton, Northwestern, Stanford, Brown What would you have done differently? I would have started taking grad classes my third year- I thought they would be harder than they are.

Any news? As of yesterday they still haven't given out second round funding, and I would feel bad about calling Peter again.

I tried that at one school- no luck.

Does anyone around here have experience with withdrawing an acceptance after April 15th? Is it difficult to get a letter of release from the school you accepted?

Interesting stuff. Do you get just summary statistics or all the data points?

You have to consider the selection bias too. The worst students are much more likely to have parents try to incentive's them than the A students.

I missed the Berkeley flyout, and I would also like to hear some people's opinions, especially on the matter of professor availability. Also, who was admissions chair?

I got 5 out of ~10 that I requested, but the ones I got were the ones more relevant to me.

I was unfortunately very sick right around the time of Chicago flyouts, and I didn't get to visit. Would anyone that went be kind enough to post their impressions of Chicago?

Does anyone have experience with how the funding waitlist moves? I am on a "short wait list" for funding, and didn't apply to NSF
