  1. Hi Stacy, I'm considering a few MBA programs but have yet to apply. My question is, if you have an applicant who has done well on the GMAT, but is still considering spending a few more years in their career, do you normally recommend applying to an MBA program right away or waiting for a few years. Thank you!
  2. Hey everyone, I really enjoy reading blogs (sports, personal finance, etc..) and I wanted to hear from people what they thought the best GMAT blogs are. So far I have really enjoyed these 3: 1. Beat The GMAT! Really good schedule information 2. 2minuteGMAT Blog Great strategy information 3.GMAT Grammar If you need help with verbal, this is a really good blog I'd love to hear about people's suggestions for good blogs. Thanks.
  3. I've heard good things about Knewton.com.
  4. What MBA programs are you looking at? If you are looking at an MBA at Harvard or Stanford, it may be worth it.
  5. It's funny that you mentioned that GPA, because I had exactly a 3.7 GPA, but it wasn't from the best university.
  6. Congratulations on your score; a 750 is fantastic.
  7. Can anyone let me know what the strawberries and fish mean on the profile? Thanks.
  8. I don't believe it is true. GMAC, the makers of the GMAT, go through a lot of trouble to make sure that the GMAT is fairly standardized throughout all test centers.
  9. arunparend, Don't worry too much about PrincetonReview; I had the same issues. Just focus on doing well on the Official GMAT Exams at http://www.mba.com; they are the most accurate.
  10. Hey John, Send me any questions when you have the chance? What are you looking to try to solve?
  11. Hi Michky2100, Don't worry too much about individual exams, just keep practicing GMAT questions and focusing on the task at hand. Make sure to continue to review strategy for how to beat CR questions. Check out the CR Manhattan GMAT book (you can just go to a Borders Book; purchase the book and then return it within 2 weeks.) I found it to be one of the best books.
  12. Hi jigsai, I really liked this GMAT Math blog that helped me out. I am trying to remember the name of the blog.. I will search online and try to post it later.
  13. Hi guys, I did some digging around and now I am in love with 2 books: 1. Kaplan 800 2. Manhattan GMAT books (really helpful although they are kind of expensive) There are not many books I have read with good GMAT strategy, and these two books are definitely helpful.
  14. Hi Flyinghai, Thanks for the link in the post; it is definitely helpful.
  15. Hi GoISB? I would focus on the Official Guide to the GMAT and Official GMAT Exams at http://www.mba.com (you can get 2 free ones). Have you looked at these resources?
  16. I don't know anyone who has scored an 800, but the above post is correct; you don't need to get all of the questions right to score an 800.
  17. From my experiences, I have not seen much of a difference between Kaplan and Official GMAT questions. I also spent some time with the Kaplan 800 prep book though, which offers a more difficult selection of GMAT questions.
  18. Hi KrazyGMatter, I recommend you doing the following. First, have you taken a practice GMAT exam and do you know what your ideal GMAT score is? 1. Sign up for the GMAT at mba.com; when you take the exam it forces you to get serious about studying. 2. Make sure to take an official practice exam as soon as you begin studying. You should know what type of score you are getting right now. After doing this, look to do the following: 1. Purchase the Official Guide to the GMAT (from the makers of the GMAT). Take these questions and review the answers often. 2. Purchase a really good prep book to learn about strategy for taking the exam; I would recommend the Manhattan GMAT books or Kaplan 800. 3. Look to spend 4 days a week for 30 minute sessions (not including Sunday) on taking GMAT questions. I liked GMAT 2minutePrep | GMAT Questions because it sends you an email every day with gmat questions. 4. Take a full GMAT exam once every week. I wish you the best of luck.
  19. You can also get a free GMAT exam at Knewton.com, ManhattanGMAT.com, and Princetonreview.com.
  20. I agree with a lot of the above comments. I liked Manhattan GMAT Prep books, Kaplan 800, MBA.com offers free exams, and 2minuteGMAT was also helpful and inexpensive. Barnes and Nobles also allows you to purchase a book and return it in 2 weeks.
  21. Hi Andspeed, When you study for the GMAT, do you normally time yourself? I would look to do timed exams to get yourself familiar with answering questions with limited times. From my experiences, if you are looking to minimize your time I would purchase the Manhattan GMAT Prep books. They offer really good strategies for lowering times, and they were certainly of help to me (the only downside is that they are a bit expensive.)
  22. Hi TimTinny, How do you like Knewton.com so far. I signed up for the free trial. How would you compare it to Princeton Review? Thanks.
  23. Hi everyone, Does anyone here know how to change the profile picture in the forum? I looked around and I can't find out how to. Thanks.
