  1. Atlast, glad its over. Though iam not sure as to whether this score qualifies as a good score or just an average score. Friends, can any of u tell me if I can get a top25 US univ with this score? A little bit about my background.I completed my B.Tech in electrical engg in 2008. I have a GPA of 8.6. No paper work or anything related to research. Have been working as a commissioning engineer with a core electrical MNC ever since I passed out. Now my GRE experience. I booked my date for GRE in Jan beginning. As expected my preparation was on and off during the period. I could not devote much of my time for full fledged preparation due to my odd working hours and the nature of work. So i took ten days off for the last exam time prep. That was when I started giving tests. I started with 800score.com. The quants questions were really calculation intensive and completing all the 28 questions in 45 minutes was a big challenge for me. I could not cross 650 in any of those tests. Verbal was also a big challenge. The other tests I gave : one Kaplan and two GREpowerprep. In my actual GRE exam i started off with a wrong answer choice in the Verbal section. Got three RCs. Used to get around 650 to 700 in verbal in my practice tests, somehow i screwed up my actual GRE verbal. In quants, the first question I screwed up was the 6th question which was a DI ques. Took some time to interpret the data,on top of that the question was also very lengthy, too many words, that was enough to put me out if my shape. I panicked and selected some random answer, as i had already spent around 12 to 15 minutes with my first 5 questions, checking and double checking my answers. Three questions were median related, one was venn diagram related.Somehow, I came out managing to look "not bad" I feel. Writing section was OK.Could finish on time. Followed the writing structures suggested by most of the books. Friends, pls enlighten me about my score. Is it good enough? Can this score land me in a good univ?Iam really looking forward to saying goodbye to my present job.It really sucks. So pls help..Also wat would be called a good AW score? Thanking in advance
  2. a/0.3=a/(3/10)=10a/3=3.3a >2a; when a>0
  3. 1)characteristic of a supplicant(one who requests; a petitioner) is humility or humbleness similarly characteristic of an adversary is to provide resistance..so the answer is E 2)bartering involves exchange of commodities similarly correspondence involves exchange of letters 3)the other meaning of steep(ie other than the common meaning when used as adjective)when used as a verb is to engage oneself fully...so the answer shoulld be A)relax 4)the best fit i think here is B)original remark..platitude is a remark that lacks originality 5)elbow is a joint similarly heart is an organ 6)opaque objects do not allow light to pass through them similarly nonporous materials do not allow water to pass through them or more appropriately put 'they do not absorb water' 7)the bridge here is Y is the characteristic of X so the answer should be B) prodigal : spend pls point out if any of the answers are wrong
  4. For this analogy i think we have to take care of one more dimension..Zealous and enthusiastic ,do have the bridge of 'degree' but they are also used to describe people..same way idolatrous and devoted are used to describe people..but in option (b),whereas stylish is used to describe people and objects(stylish cars etc) flamboyant in my opinion is not used to describe people..so the answer should be (E) watsay folks?any opinions? well, i was wrong..flamboyant is used to describe people as well eg an entertainer's flamboyant personality
  5. ZEALOUS: ENTHUSIASTIC:: (A) pedantic: educated (B) flamboyant: stylish (Cl cautious: prudent (D) pious: virtuous (E) idolatrous: devoted For this analogy i think we have to take care of one more dimension..Zealous and enthusiastic ,do have the bridge of 'degree' but they are also used to describe people..same way idolatrous and devoted are used to describe people..but in option (b),whereas stylish is used to describe people and objects(stylish cars etc) flamboyant in my opinion is not used to describe people..so the answer should be (E) watsay folks?any opinions?
