  1. Well, your proposition of reformulating this sentence seems to express exactly what I want to say. Thank you!:)
  2. This is about trying to ask why we "choose" only certain people as objects of our love/liking. I would like to say: there are many people in the world, many people we meet every day, but for some reason, only some of them arouse these feelings in us. Would it be more correct to say: "Out of many people we like only certain ones"?
  3. Is it correct to use "from among" with verbs like: "love", "like", etc., to express and emphasise preference of one object over others? E.g., could we say/write: "From among a great number of people, we like only certain ones, rather than others or should we say/write: "Among a great number of people, we like only certain ones, rather than others" Which one would be correct/more correct? Thanks for all comments Nina
