  1. I am in IT/ Benefits Adminstration industry which is close to Healthcare. In short, I am planning to transition into healthcare industry. I was inquiring, in general, about the perception of these schools in the corporate world. Official rankings have much more than just corporate perception and I was more curious about corporate perception for these programs. Thanks for your response.
  2. Stacy, I have admission to the Exec MBA program at Univ of Michigan and Duke. If I were to consider pure reputation, which MBA program has a better reputation? All other aspects of the program e.g. class size, concentration offered, convenience of location, cost of the program etc pretty much evens out for me. I have tried to get a sense of the industry reputation for both these schools and do not have a clear winner. Any advise would be helpful. Similar comparision between Univ of Chicago and Kellogg would be helpful too. thanks
  3. Which agency - ECE or WES provides better course-by-course evaluation for students educated in India (CA, Mcom, Bcom)? thanks
  4. I have received admission to the EMBA program at Duke and at University of Michigan. While these are EMBA programs, I believe the quality of the programs will be similar to their counterpart full-time programs. Can you provide your feedback or feel for which program you think is stronger? I am also applying to Kellogg and Univ of Chicago. (cross fingers) If I get admitted to these programs, which one do you think is stronger? My evaluation criteria- Quality of Program with respect to Strategy and leadership Quality of career services Student cohort Class size Health care focus Ranking and program recognition Long question but a short answer will do :) Thanks
  5. I don't believe that is true. You can have a statement - I like neither apples nor oranges. The reason I think NOR cannot be used here is because we are using three way parallelism and not two. Neither/ Nor works for two way parallelism.
  6. IMO A. "in which" fits better. The only question I have is regarding redundancy and no option corrects that issue. Evolve and over time are kind of similar so why is it repeated in all options?
  7. IMO D. Since it is referring to information, the usage of indicates will be needed. Also, "lie ahead" presents simple present.
  8. farmer stan, Did you practice with the OG11 and OG12 books? do you know if the questions are similar to these books? So i am trying to decipher which category it falls into- Questions are similar to OG12 Questions test concepts similar to OG12 Questions test concepts similar to OG12 + Some completely new concepts? I just did OG12 quant questions, and got a few incorrect. I am getting worried considering my exam is in 6 days. One more question, regarding sentence correction. I have read the MGMAT SC book. However, it still get quite a few incorrect. I know the score change drastically due to verbal scores. Any advise on step by step elimination/ solving process you use will be helpful. thx
  9. thx Bro. I fumbled here and one more problem and was going to post this same question. thx again!!
  10. thx for the feedback. I agree with you on room for improvement for the SC section. I actually completed my CR as well and score 74/83 i.e.89% raw. I think I need to focus a lot on the SC and Quant. I score 47 in my 1st attempt. I am hoping I can make it 50 this time.
  11. I wanted to get some feedback on how I am doing on my verbal. I just did SC and RC question from the Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review and got 82/113 i.e.~73% and 87/104 i.e. 84% I know the difficulty of the questions matter and play a part in the overall score. But wanted to get perspective from other exam takers regarding their percentages and scores in practice exams. To give better perspective on my score - this is my 2nd attempt. I got 680 in the 1st. thx
  12. while I did it the same way as all of you, I am convinced there is a better way to do this problem. It is never about manual number crunching in GMAT. So here is my alternative theory. Current age ratio total is 17. If you do the same for all the options and subtract it from 17 you get 2,4,6,8,12. This ratio difference equals to 10 years (5 for each). Divide 10 by 2,4,6,8 and 12. Only the even value is correct since the ages are integers. You get even value only for option A. If you note closely, they have particularly avoided the option of 14,13 as that would yield an even number 1 when you divide the difference (i.e. 10) by 10.
  13. Valid question. Please refer to the formulae for a^2-b^2; a^3-b^3, a^3+b^3. These three will clarify the theorem. So if the sign is subtraction, the power being even or odd does not matter. However, if the sign is addition, then the power has to be odd.
  14. IMO 4. I am sure there is a smarter way to arrive at this answer but after much trial and error, I start doing manual calculation hoping i find a pattern to able to predict the digit. I think I did find the pattern. So if you keep multiplying 5-6 times, you will notice the ten's digit to be 0,4,4,0,0,4,4,0,.... i.e. 2 4's followed by 2 0's. Since 0 is not an option provided, it should be 4.
