Hi I'm going to be applying to the following universities for a M.A. in Economics - Calgary, McMaster, Carleton, Guelph and Alberta for fall 2011. They all have deadlines for submission of applications which will be considered for funding of around mid Jan. I was hoping someone could tell me whether there is any advantage (say, increased chances of funding) in applying as early as possible or whether my chances are the same as long as I apply anytime within the deadline. I did a few quantitative tests from 800score.com and those were definitely harder than the stuff you'll be seeing on the actual GRE. But you should still get them as they'll make for good practice (also the actual GRE will seem easier after doing these tests). Don't worry about the scores they give you - you'll get at least 100 more on the GRE. I can't say anything about CatPrep. hope this helped.

I got hold of the older powerprep - version 2 as well as the current version - 3.1. I'd like to use both of them for effective practice so can anyone tell me if they have different pools of questions (especially for the quants section)?
