Hi there:
Very cool forum.
I write the GRE this Thursday @ 9:00 A.M. sharp. This will be my first official seating.
I'm writing w/ the hope of gleaning a bit of wisdom from anyone & anyone who has had this issue:
I started preparing roughly 3 months ago. Have gone through & taken the full-practice-tests from essentially every major book & CAT-Test Provider out there:
ETS
Barron's
Peterson's
CATPrep
Kaplan
The thing is this: I've had wild variation in my scores on these tests. It's making me a bit nervous for the official one. There have been days where I've scored >1490 & days when I've scored
In the ETS book & pretty much every one before that my average Verbal was approximately 700 or so. The book & CD-Rom I'm working w/ now (Peterson's), I'm getting 120 points beneath that score on the CAT Practice Tests they offer. Particularly w/ this book, scores have been much, much lower than expected. Did anyone have the same experience w/ Peterson's?
But besides that, w/ Brand of Book & Everything aside, there is still this wild variation in scores: High One Day/Very Low The Next.
Anybody have this? How did the real GRE treat you?
Any tips or comforts you can offer? What's up w/ this?
