Hi tigerroyals,
UTD and TAMU are pretty good.
Mind giving some details about your profile(GRE, TOEFL, GPA, coll, research work) so I can estimate my own chances?
In Speaking section 4(passage+lecture), Is it a good idea to just mention in the beginning what the passage is about and what it says when the question clearly asks about the lecture?
For example if the question says "State how the lecture talks about blimp Columbia and zeppelin Hindenburg", is it a good idea to begin speaking with "The article talks about lighter-then-air crafts and that there are two kinds of lighter-than-air crafts, rigid and non-rigid"?
Thanks! I got 3 RCs- 90 lines, 40 lines and 30 lines. Not sure if they were really difficult or it was just me succumbing to the pressure, trying hard to concentrate and understand them.
I don't think I'd seen any of them anywhere.
One tip to those who want to get 1600: Don't crumble under the pressure and lose your concentration. You can't solve RCs while worrying about what score you'd get.
Since my practice test scores have been much higher than this, I was pretty confident I'd get at least 1450-1500 in my real GRE.
(Have a look at my pre-GRE updates - http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gre/131490-my-gre-practice-tests-score.html)
Ah but anyways, 1430 is a decent score and I really shouldn't be cribbing.

Well, I got 1430 ( 800q + 630v). I'm pretty confident I got all antonyms, analogies and sentence completions right. However, I couldn't concentrate on the reading comprehension questions and got most of them wrong.
Have my GRE exam tomorrow.
Took PP1 y'day and PP2 today (Both the scores are biased since I've already taken them once)
Powerprep I : 800Q + 750V
Powerprep II: 800Q + 680V
Barron's model test 1: 29/30V + 25/28Q
The reason I'm specifying my scores is to see how well these practice tests would reflect my actual GRE score.
Will be back tomorrow.
I got this question wrong as well. Turns out the meaning of 'stereotyped' as it is used here is
'instinctive action, movement, posture, or behavior that does not need to be practiced or learned before it can be done correctly'
Primate Factsheets: Glossary
Erudite means "Learned/knowledgeable". It doesn't mean "talented". Unlettered, on the other hand means illiterate/uneducated which is the direct antonym of Erudite.
