Many thanks your opinion, it is reasonable. However, I found the use of "be compared with" in all of my dictionaries I have -Oxford, Macmilan, Cambridge - and none of which has an example as your opinion. Might you give me the material proving your opinion is true?

I think I find the response: "two years" here is a sort of determiner, not an adjective. In above sentence, it is put a parallel structure not only - but also. Determiner consists of 3 types : 1. article ; 2. possessive ; 3. demonstrative (e.g no, each, many, ...)

Hi Dokiente, Let me try to explain your doubt. As you understand, it is correct to put a comma before a conjunction in the compound sentence. Conjunctions for compound sentences are as follows. [/size]f[/size]or [/size]a[/size]nd [/size]n[/size]or [/size]b[/size]ut [/size]o[/size]r [/size]y[/size]et [/size]s[/size]o These conjunctions are called "FANBOYS" in order to easy to memorize. There are only seven conjunctions in the compound sentence. On the other hand, "provided" is a conjunction for the complex sentence. It acts like "if" in the condition sentence, so when it stands between two clauses, we don't need to put a comma before it. Example : If I were you, I would buy a new car. O.k. All guys;) It should be "well-staffed". Adjective compound and, of course, paralellism structure. staff (n- mean person) came shorly in my mind when I first read this sentence. Moreover, I felt well-staff is hard to understand. Sorry for my mistake At Noon ...sorry AtNoon, I think it must be adj so that staff(v)-->staffed(adj). "well" is adv for staffed. In brief: The ideal study situation is a library that is large, well organized, and well staffed.
