  1. Good day everyone. For those who graduated in the 6 year, PharmD program at CEU and are licensed pharmacists in the states (or able to take the FPGEE), i have a question.. Based on NABP or ECE, what are you credited as? PharmD or BS-Pharm? I am asking because i already have already completed clinical pharmacy (5th year) and can apply for the FPGEE but i desire to work with a PharmD status over a BS-Pharm status... (I know i can upgrade it there in USA, but all i have found is a 3 year Non traditional pharmD, which costs much...) So with that case, i plan to take the PharmD program here in the philippines and then apply for the FPGEE... For those who have taken the program, and are licensed in USA (or about to be licensed), did it credit as PharmD or just BS-Pharm?
  2. Good day everyone, i am a fresh graduate from the Philippines and i was wondering if anyone knows the requirements for working in Europe as a pharmacists? Or is there any other places that have good job opportunities other than in the USA?
  3. Hey good day, i am about to finish and apply for the FPGEE exam and though passing is something i have to study for, i was wondering about the internship. I read a lot of things about how hard it is to find an internship but im wondering about the life as an intern if you were trained abroad. Of coarse we were trained different since we never learned the doses to give the patient and usually we just follow what the doctors prescription says. So i was wondering, is it really hard to adjust to the USA system? What were you expected to do as an intern? After passing the FPGEE, are you equipped enough to live a life as an intern, or did you struggle and have to learn plenty on the job? Or is intern like how intern is here in the Phi? where you basically just watch what the pharmacist does and takes notes and so forth. Im assuming that you will be like a pharmacist answering questions and so forth. What was your personal experience?
  4. Good day everyone, I was wondering if there is a difference between a certificate vs a diploma in terms for applying for the FPGEE. I am planning to go to USC, in Cebu Philippines and they have told me there is an unlikely chance they will be offering a 2 year clinical pharmacy program this year because of a lack of students. (If i would have graduated from USC for my BSP, it would have only been required for me to take 1 year clinical pharmacy to receive a diploma, but since i am from a different Pharmacy school here in the Philippines, i am required to take 2 year clinical program to recieve a diploma for clinical pharmacy). They are allowing me to enter into the 1 year clinical pharmacy program, but they told me i will only be receiving a certificate of completion. Do you guys think that would be a problem when i would go apply for the FPGEE? I also hear that it might be a problem for being accepted to take the FPGEE since they are very particular to the 5-year continuous study. But i also hear that some are being allowed even if they have done their clinical pharmacy classes somewhere outside their BSP original schooling. I guess it is by case-to-case scenario. I will also check out what other school have to say, but if this is my only option i have, what do you guys have to say about it? Also when submitting my requirements to take the FPGEE, what am i supposed to be submitting them? Like Diploma from BSP, Diploma/Certificate from Clinical Pharma, Transcript from both schools of BSP and clinical pharmacy? Like that? Thank you guys for your help all these months on this forum. God bless
  5. I hear that USC doesn't require you to be licensed to enroll into their clinical program... I asked them about 5 months ago and they said it is true that its not needed to enroll I hope they didnt change their minds about that answer.. haha
  6. Good day everyone,! As of this sunday, I will be a BS-Pharm Graduate of a school here in Cebu! Im so thankful to have finished my BS-Pharm but my ultimate goal is to be a pharmacist back home in the USA ( I am a foreigner here in the Philippines, florida born) Anyways, i am now going to my next step, enrolling for PharmD or Clinical Pharma. I know of CEU-PharmD, UIC-Clinical, and USC-Clinical that offer programs elligble for the FP. Does anyone else know of any schools that offer programs? I hear that in CEU, you need to be licensed before enrolling into their program but at USC you dont need to. ( I have had an interview with USC ). I really would love to go to CEU, since a PharmD degree sounds alot nicer than Clinical Pharma. I hear of a PharmD or Clinical Pharma program in UST but i am not sure if it is true since i didnt see it on the website. Can anyone clarify if it is true or not? For those who have completed the PharmD Program in CEU or Clinical in USC, can they please share their experience such as difficulty of classes and how classes are and such forth. I do have positive thoughts on after i finish PharmD or Clinical, for not really having problems with Intern or the FP qualifications, (or if it would be a problem i would just worry about it when the time comes), but for now i am just wondering what the best options are for me since i have just finished my BS-Pharm I am hoping that CEU will allow me to enroll into their program while not being a licensed pharmacist yet, but obtaining it during my 1st year into the program. Please let me know any details and please provide feedback on my situation, if possible… thank you all, and God bless http://abbyandwin.net/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
  7. Thank you so much for the information. Sadly, i have failed a class human anatomy ( but when i talked to some teachers here at my school they said it might not be a problem since it is not a major class ). I tried emailing the dean but there was no response, anyways a lot of people claim that they do not respond to emails on the email they provided on the CEU webiste. Can someone please post on here, or message me the email address that was used to contact the Dean there in CEU? Thank you If all fails, I plan to visit there this summer to get information myself. I think it is very obvious that i want to go to CEU to take up PharmD over being a clinical pharmacist. Haha God bless everyone
  8. I am a BS pharma studuent who is about to graduate this April 2012. I was planning to take clinical pharma at USC this June 2012 but there in USC if you graduated from a differ school you will go into their 2 year clinical program (1st year being all review classes). Anyways I'm glad to find out the CEU has a clinical programm for just 1 year and it is stated there on the CEU website. I was just wondering how enrollment into clinical is. Do I have to be licensed already? And I have failed a class during 2nd year, human ana, will they still alow me to enroll? USC didn't require me to be licensed yet. Anyways that would be great to enroll in CEU if I could, I always wanted to live in manila. Thank you If someone could ask for me that would also be great, I tried emailing and they don't respond, maybe busy, and I would go there myself but I'm a graduating student and we are dealing with a lot of pressure. Anyways thank you God bless
  9. Good day everyone, Since I am still about to enroll into my Clinical Pharmacy, 5th year BSc-Pharma, I was thinking that it would still be about 3 years until I finish the FPGEE and all the requirements, God willing i pass. With all the rumors i hear about Foreign Pharmacists having a hard time apply for internship and working in the USA, I was wondering what else i can do if working in the USA doesn't push through. Does anyone have any idea of places around the world where FPGEE Pharmacists might have an easier time finding a job with a pretty good amount of pay? (AUS,Canada, ????) Just trying to make plans in my life.. haha God bless everyone!
  10. Hey thanks for the reply, I noticed that you are a 1st year PharmD student, hows it going there? That is great that you can still enroll but take it during your 1st year, that could be a plan i would do... How was the entrance exam? Hows the school and such, im really excited to go there..
  11. Question question question... Lets say after i pass the FPGEE exam and all other required tests, what kind of pharmacist will i be named? My mom is a nurse back home in Florida and she told me that the very old pharmacists are named "BS Pharmacists" and the recent newly hired ones are labeled as "PharmD Pharmacists". She was saying that now a days, PharmD pharmacists are favored over BS Pharmacists.. I was wondering what label we will be under after passing all the tests and requirements. In my situation, I am about to graduate my 4th year BSP and I have two choices to to enroll into. "CEU for PharmD" or "USC for the 5th year BSP-clinical". Both schools claim that after i finish their course i am eligible to take the FPGEE since the requirements for taking the FPGEE is either PharmD or a 5year BSP. If i would end up enrolling for USC(5th year clinical) will that make a difference on my "license name" or does everyone get the same status after passing the FPGEE? (PharmD or BS Pharmacist) This is a very important question for me because if i would enroll to CEU for PharmD, i would have to move to a different city, Manila, here in the Philippines where as USC is right next to the house i live in now. Thank you for your time, God bless
  12. Sorry, but it seems that no one from "Thread: For foreign pharmacists who graduated after 2003" has answered the questions i would like to start a new thread. Please help! I am in very need of these questions to be answered... Thank you and God bless Hey everyone! I am so happy to have found this webiste! I have been trying to find something like this about CEU all over the internet for like 3 months. Lol. Can someone answer some questions for me since CEU never replies to emails, and that im from Cebu so i can't really visit the school... haha 1) Enrolling into CEU PharmD, what are the requirments other than passing the board exam? Most of my grades fall around 2.7ish and i failed 1 class, human anatomy, will that affect my chances of getting accepted? (I really hope that passing the board exam is good enough) 2) How many people are usually enrolled into PharmD a year? How old are people usually who take up the PharmD program? 3) In terms of difficulty, how would you rate it compared to the BSP program? 4) How do you find the college life there? I have no family there in Manila so the adjustment from Cebu will be huge 5) How long does the enrollment process take? Would it be the same as enrolling into BSP, or is there added work? 6) Anything else i need to know? Grading scales, teaching styles? 7) Lets say i would pass the board exam this June 2012, would i be able to enroll for the school year of 2012, or will i have to wait for the 2013 school year at CEU, and if i do enroll 2013, how long is the enrollment process? Is it something that i turn in papers and wait a month or so to find out if i get accepted or is it like on the spot kind of thing? Oh, this is kinda out there but were you able to have a social life while enrolled into PharmD? How is the campus/ people in campus? and is it like taking up med where studying is everyday? Thank you for your time and help! God bless
