  1. Yes, CR type questions (assumption, strengthen, weaken) are definitely part of the RC section of the new GRE. Each verbal section could have 1 or 2 such questions though they will obviously not be of a difficulty level one sees on the LSAT. The GMAT books should be good to practice for these questions
  2. From what I have observed, the score on the actual test rarely goes up compared to one's average score in the practice tests. In fact, on most occasions, it comes down a few points due to the 'nerves' factor.
  3. AFAIK unofficial scores are always self reported so you just need to mention your scores on the application form of that university. They will obviously verify this with your official scores (when they get the same) and if there's any discrepancy, your application will be rejected.
  4. The Powerprep tests will give you the best idea of your expected score. Take the scores on rest of the practice tests with a pinch of salt.
  5. The argument concludes that the mayor cannot be criticized, so to weaken the argument we need to somehow prove that the mayor should be criticized. All the options blame the mayor but the argument talks about the problem of inequality of wages between two groups of people. Only A addresses this issue, rest of the options are outside the scope of the argument because they give additional reasons which are not mentioned in the argument.
  6. Congratulations on your score! Can you please share some tips on how you went about your prep, specially for vocab. Thanks
  7. Add me to the list as well. I think its best if we use these forums to discuss our thoughts, doubts, etc. so others can benefit as well. Cheers!
  8. I think he meant if something was wrong with the OP's '.'(full stop) key, given the number of times he used it in his post. Just makes it difficult to read but I agree, we should keep the language civil on these forums.

    Gre scare!!!!

I think the first thing you should do is accept the fact that its perfectly normal to get anxious before the test. In fact if anything this anxiety should increase as the test day comes closer. It is how you handle this anxiety that will decide how you perform on the test. As the saying goes 'Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear' Good luck!

    GRE Prep Books

I think you should use the Barron's book as well, specially for vocab. At least I am using it and think its quite useful.
  11. As far as I know your official score will be the same as this. There rarely is a difference between the official and the unofficial scores.
