1. Jesus! Thank you very much for this great explanation :) I finally understand my mistake! best regards dxmail
2. 78*66=5148 => x+y=4+8=12 => A (You can do this with the gre calculator) If you want to know the last n digits of a multiplication, you only have to multiply the last n digits of the factors :) I will look at the others tomorrow
3. Here is an other approximation I'm having trouble with: 12/37 => 8/25
4. Hi guys, It looks to me that there is an error in the question from the Kaplan CAT?? Or from where do they get a-b=2ab? Help would be very appreciated!

I highly recommend it, too. Their tutoring support is insanely good! If you have any question concering math topics, strategies or specific questions. Chris or Magaratte usually answer within hours. This is really helpfull! :)

I know Kaplan and Manhattan GRE CATs. Cheapest way to get access to the 6 Manhattan GRE CATs is to buy the kindle version of any manhattan gre book. It includes a code. The MCats quant seems a lot harder than to me. And I'm wondering how accurate the Kaplan scores are, I received a 165 (91 percentile) and a 163 (86 percentile) when I was very tired. What bugs me is that even though the percentiles shown by Kaplan for the 165 score is correct, the percentile for 163 according to ETS actually is 88%... What do you guys think is nearer to the real performance? Kaplan percentile or score?
8. You can look in the "Just finished my GRE" section, there are a few threads from people who first received a range and later posted their actual score. From what I've seen most people were in the first quartile of their range
9. Hi guys, I also have a problem with Barrons DI questions (but from the 18th edition) I have difficulties with estimating ratios. The Answer Choices are: (A) 5:6 (B) 6:7 © 7:6 (D) 6:5 (E) 7:5 If you caluclate the ratio, according to the solutions you get "63:54=7:6 => Ans. ©" But how do I know that 63:54 is approximately 7:6 and NOT 6:5?? To me it looks clearly nearer to 6:5, but it's wrong. Could you guys tell me how you tackle such approximations? Or do you avoid them, because you are afraid of mistakes (i'm unsure whether I should try to estimate instead of doing long calculations in DI, the Kaplan guide says that it's highly recommended, since it saves a lot of time.. -. but how save is it?) Thanks a lot! for your support :) (p. 367/5)
10. Hi, I get: median 1992 6500+7000/2=6750 median 1993 6000 (april) So somehow the difference is 750 less which is exactly between 500 and 1000 less? ôo Could you pls. point out my error? thx
11. 1) The base is parallel to the x-axis Vertex must be above the center of the base => x=3 now there are two points with x=3 C and E for C y=6 => Vertex above the base y=-6 => Vertex lies below the base 2) 2. a is a positive integer Quantity A ((3a)(3a)) / 3 = 9a^2/3= 3*a^2 Quantity B (3a +3a) /3 = 6a/3=2a divide both by a 3a > 2
12. Hi guys, http://www.manhattanprep.com/gre/gre-time-management.cfm his was posted recently I hope it is helpfull to you. I will take my test next week (last shot) And I am still wondering, after what amount of time I should guess on a question and move on. Could you guys please share some of your experiences with the new gre? Thanks a lot!
13. From where is this problem? I seem to have seen it somewhere soon before.. thnxs
14. You can memorize the code of the university you are applying to and enter it after the test. The scores will be sent to the institution within a few days than.
15. Hi there,I am also looking for a set of good practice questions probability (sets, unions, bayes,..) and stats problems, (quartiles and percentiles, box-and-whisker plots, Normal Distribution, Median) and compound interests (heard from a friend that this topic has been tested more heavily lately)I found them were hard to find on the internet. Magoosh is good, but unfortunately not so many questions for those topics :-/The more similar to the real GRE questions the better :)Thanks a lot for your help!
