Hi guys,
I have been facing a problem of choosing from Lse Finance and Econ program(Msc) or lse eme (Msc) as a step stone for applying Finance Phd in 2014 fall.
The pros and cons in my point of view:
EME:
1. Distinction could guarantee a place for Lse econ Phd:encouragement:.
2. Strong reputation, widely recognized in US, but does it carry the same value for admission committee in finance?
F&E: 1. Not bad reputation in finance area. More exposure to stochastic pricing and financial economics( I have already studied stochastic analysis).
2. Students in this program are required to submit a thesis paper, which might be helpful...
3. No back up--Only Distinction does not necessarily mean obtaining Phd offer in Lse Finance department.
My undergrad major is math and I have finished an MSC of mathematical finance in UK ( stochastic calculus, functional analysis, Measure theory etc.). So let's optimistically assume that I would survive those courses in LSE:orange:
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
