  1. keep up the good grade, try to get a letter from RA professor, and you'll at least have a chance for top 15. (don't worry about the only B in your transcript, if you can do better later)
  2. alright I'll try to relax a bit then
  3. Hi all, I came across several websites which provide materials on math camps as I was applying for grad schools, but I didn't save all of them, so I wondered if anyone else has some good sources/website of such materials online and legal for sharing? Let's make this post a Math Camp preparation source? :excited:
  4. For TAMU, if you wanna do trade, it's not a good place. Their main strength is micro (applied/theory). That's just what I know. In terms of overall trade/macro quality, BGSE > TAMU.
  5. Hi! I am an international student (US undergrad) and I have been admitted with full funding by a US program. Since the offer includes health insurance, and I have problems with 2 teeth, I am deciding between getting treatment in my home country this summer or later in the US (during semester I guess). Right now one tooth is really bothering me, and my dentist suggested Root-Canal treatment (a surgery removing 2 teeth and replace with filling materials) for both of them. But I have to pay >$700 for a tooth in my current undergrad school (even under insurance..), so I don't wanna do that. So I wanted to know from current graduate students (especially for those who had such tooth treatments) if getting treatment later this year will be a better option. If I get treatments in my home country this summer, I will pay ~$700 for each of them, and it will take less than a month for each tooth to be treated. And I will feel better sooner. But there is no insurance benefit or anything like that. If I get treatments in the US this fall. I am not sure how much I will have to pay under graduate insurance. And I don't know how long the whole process will take for each tooth. Also, I don't know if I'll have time for it in the busy first year. Thus I have these questions for treatment in the US: 1. How much do I have to pay for a root-canal treatment under graduate insurance, for both of the teeth? ( the original price at my undergrad is ~$1100) 2. How long will it usually take since I first go to the dentist, until the surgery is completed? I know this is kinda off the main topic here, but I really need some more info. on this issue, as money is a big factor of consideration for me. Thanks in advance!
  6. RELAX, and do well in further Math courses. I know people who got a C+ in Calc 2 and got into 20ish schools.
  7. For most top 50 schools, they don't ask for an updated transcript that contains fall grade, unless you are already admitted. :excited:
  8. My advice: If you are sure to get an A-/A. take it no matter what. If you not sure about the grade you can get, take it in senior fall. Anyways, taking it is better than not, because more knowledge is better. Also, no school will reject you because you didn't take it, especially given your good grades in other Math courses. So take it easy!
  9. Just think about you are at least the top half of your graduate class of all Phds and maybe some Masters students in a top 15 school...That's a good enough indicator that you will do well in it later on, and probably better.
