  1. Thank you Wolfdiggitydog for your input and thank you THE MAN for the insights, I could now compare the two more easily .. although ISU would be a good one .. but it seems that USF outweigh it after all Thanks again :)
  2. Hello I got admitted into both of the schools for an MA in Economics .. and my ultimate goal is to get into a fine PhD program in the future. My undergraduate major isn't economics and I didn't have much math courses so I decided to go for a master's degree as a stepping stone to strengthen my background in Econ and take as many math courses as possible. of these two, which program do you think would be the right one to go for ? and would the fact that the Illinois State's program is "Applied" have any effect on my chances of admission for a PhD in the future ?? Thanks
  3. Hello all .. I’m very thankful for this great forum, lots of information in here. I lately considered pursuing masters and PhD in Economics in the US. I didn’t take much math courses that could support my profile :( With this profile, do I still have a chance? International Student: No need for funding, will be sponsored by my country. UG Majors: Finance GPA: 3.4 / 4.00 Econ & Finance courses: Micro, Macro, Money & Banking, Special Topic (Arabian Economy), International Economics, Public Finance, 2 courses in Corporate Finance, Investment, Insurance, International Finance, MGT of Fin. Institutions, Cases in Finance. Math Courses: few and weak grades: Applied Calculus (C+), Finite Math (A), Stat for Business I (C+), Stat for Business II (B+) GRE: not yet, but hopefully will be great. LORs: 3 letters from regular Professors. I will apply for a master to solidify my background in Econometrics and other Econ. Courses, then for a PhD. Applying for: University of Houston (MS Applied Econ), University of New Hampshire, UConn. what are my chances ? would be grateful for any comment
