  1. Hi Lilyxia89, thanks a lot for the comment. Are you coming to Columbia's Finance program?
  2. Thanks a lot for the reply. Finance (asset pricing) is one of the two fields I want to do. The other is macro. I'm afraid that finance PhD students do not have good access to professors in the Econ department? I don't know if this is true at Columbia. But I know there are cases that Econ students have B-School professors as their advisers. Again, I greatly appreciate any suggestions or information. I really hope I can make the decision soon so that the one I decline can go to someone else on the waiting list.
  3. Hi. I have narrowed down my options to just Columbia Econ and Columbia GSB (Finance and Econ PhD). It seems to me I can do pretty much the same things in these two programs in terms of taking courses and finding advisers. Both programs seem to have much more impressive placement records in most recent years. I am interested in (empirical) Finance and Macro. And I cannot put a priority on one field over the other. The funding they provide are also similar. So I really don't know how to decide. Any suggestion or insider info are greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!
