  1. Well, I thought maybe after a masters degree in BGSE I could find a job that would ultimately help me fund a possible attempt at a PhD. What job? I'm not sure if this is far too unrealistic, but maybe working at a banking institution, or a consulting firm for starters, and after I really got hands-on with the real world applications and uses of everything I studied (and saved up a decent amount of money), I could give a shot to a PhD. Maybe my perspective on the route I should take is wrong, but I feel maybe a little hands-on experience can really help me out before I decide what route to take. Thanks again for the replies!
  2. Thanks for the reply! I mean, I don't know whether being accepted into the BGSE is an achievement of sorts, or I just got accepted because they want to make money off me! hahaha Seriously though, if I am looking for a job first before my possible attempt at a good PhD, is going into debt for the BGSE a good idea?
  3. PROFILE: Type of Undergrad: Spanish Grado en Economía (Degree in Economics; 4 years) Undergrad GPA: By GPA I guess its supposed to mean the mean score. I would predict 7,5/10 Type of Grad: none Grad GPA: none GRE: nop Math Courses: High, around 9,0 Econ Courses (grad-level): - Econ Courses (undergrad-level): 7-7,5 overall. Last two years 8,5-9 Other Courses: Letters of Recommendation: One from my tutor (she did a PhD in LSE, but I dont know how "important" or relevant she is) and one from my Advanced Econometrics Teacher Research Experience: none Teaching Experience: none Research Interests: As of right now I am inclined towards Macroeconomics and Monetary policy. SOP: Concerns: Other: Applying to: Seeing as I don't have GRE or GMAT, BGSE seemed like the only first-step university that was "good" (forgive my ignorance on this subject, if there are others such as BGSE, let me know!) Thank you for your answers!
  4. Where can I find this template? I am sort of shy in showing it, I don't measure up to the big fish in this forum hahaha
  5. I am aware there are quite some posts debating whether the BGSE is worth attending, etc., but I feel my case warrants a thread :) I am a spanish citizen who has studied in the US (middle school) and who has studied university at university of Barcelona (not top 10 or anything). Not only that, but GPA isn't stellar. My first year was decent, and my 3rd and 4th years of my degree I found true passion in what I was studying (Degree in Economics). During that time I started thinking of a PhD in economics and I have to say I'm truly attracted to that idea. Unfortunately, I am also realist, and given my scores and my finances, I can not afford a PhD (I want to work in what I study). During that time, I expressed my motivations to my tutor in Barcelona, and she referred to me the BGSE, and she expressed its qualities (top school, top faculty, etc etc). I then applied to the BGSE. Today, I got an email containing my acceptance. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any financial aid from the institution, which leads me, finally, to my question: Is the BGSE worth the 12K, given my student profile? I would LOVE to do a PhD in the near future, but I definitely need a good professional placement before that (to save up money, etc). Is the BGSE the way to go for that? If I don't find any grants or scholarships, is it worth going into debt for? Any and all opinions are appreciated! :)
