  3. Hello everybody. I am from Kazakhstan and just finished my GRE. My scors V 145, Q 161 and don't know yet W. I need my scors for the Fulbright programm. What do you think, is it very bad results? :sorrow:
  4. Hello everybody I am from Kazakhstan. I will take GRE exam soon. Please, somebody check my essay, I will appriceate any critics =))) As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate. Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. This century became noticeable due to indenture of various technologies. Despite the fact that these innovations improved everyday life, there is common opinion that humans’ ability to think declined significantly owing to them. However, taking to account all the facts, I strongly believe that new technologies have opposite effects. The firs argument I want to mention to prove my point of view is that new technologies bring new standards to all life fields: education, work, business, family. Moreover , these innovations demand for developing atypical abilities. People have to learn to use such difficult gadjets as computer, microwave, mobile phone, i-pod, some medical equipment etc. And they need to memorize operations: switch off and on, rife buttons and principles of machine’s work. For example, ordinary manager today has to know a computer. Some functions, for instance, checkspelling, significantly simplify work tasks. But, if we look deeply, we observe that learning how to type, save and edit documents train manager’s brain. In addition, we should not forget, that nowadays all kind of job is usually very competitive and workers always have to improve themselves, learn new programs and new technology in order to get appropriate payment. Knowing new technology is advantage. On the other hand, some people do not work. I am talking about housewife, scholars and retired people. They do not have to compete with anyone and improve professional skills. It seems that they lose their ability to think for themsefls using calculators, GPS systems, computers thinking for them. But for understanding how to use these devices (and this devises all around – even check systems in a bus), people have to think. For example, as last researches highlighted, computer games has beneficial effect to developing their ability to problem solving and reaction. Moreover, even some kitchen equipments contain so many different programs to manage it, that some housewives more astute than ever in history. Nevertheless, approval than people’s ability to think deteriorated is rife, usually in post sovet union countries. I believe the main reason for this is older generation‘s nostalgic fillings about the past. Still, there are no scientific evidence of this statement. Conversely, British scientists discovered that children today are much intelligent that they could be before. Facts of birth indigo children are mentioned more common. Little baby surround with amount of information. And the source of it like a rule TV, mobile phones, computers. These connote that humans level of intellect became higher. In other words new technology is source for learning for the children. To sum up, new technology obviously changed the way individuals find solutions for their problems. No doubt that some technology can do life easier and sometimes “think” for people. But if we look at this claim from the different angle we can notice that new technology mostly demand think in the new way and lead us to better, more intelligent way of livein.
