  1. Great Performance Ritesh. Congrats!
  2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Steve, Im sorry but I totally disagree with you that testing difficulty varies with regions. This can not be possible as GMAT is a standardised test(1) and any discrimination would leave the GMAC open to all manner of litigation(2) especially as the GMAT is sooooooo important in numerous people's lives. Also ive actually checked with ETS and their representative in the Netherlands categorically denied these(3). Take care Shaka Zulu ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Zulu, I respect your opinon and appreciate the way you expressed your disapproval. However (1) Being a standardized test doesnt guarantee that it is free from all rational or irrational biases. Moreover, It may be an attempt of GMAC+ETS to ensure that students from all over the world get equal opportunities of studying managment in US/UK(or other places). If they do not restrict the highly competitive pool of Indian applicants( one can easily infer this from the number of indian GMAT aspirant present in various test forums and their high GMAT scores. Also the proportion of indian students in US univ. is already pretty high) to a certain number then they may end up in discriminating with many others around the world and the cutural mix( which is a very important factor for B-Schools) of the managment class in school will also be substantially degraded. (2) No one can prove legally that certain question is tougher than the other. Its all depends upon the individual. GMAC can always argue that the test writer didnt find the particular question tough. (3) ETS will never dig the grave for itself. They will never reveal that they used such practices. Moreover the GMAC is shifting from ETS to some other tetsting agency from 2006 onwards. Hope i am able to convince you. I have people who took GMAT both in india and US and agreed with my point. Still Its again something which cannot be proved with a solid and proof. Regards, Steve.
  3. mba05, you are right ur test location does determine the difficulty level of the questions. Because of large flow of students from these countries into US, test centers in china and india are populated with more difficult questions than in the other countries. Steve.
  4. Ramiro, Not everybody gets accolades from me. Standing out of the crowd, you will be a successful leader in your career. Way to go boy. Good Luck for your future endeavours, Steve.
  5. Can somebody help me to know that D is relevant to the conclusion? I dun feel that it really is.
  6. B with proper selection of tense seems the best candidate.
  7. akasans, though it sounds awkward to my ear but the which in E modifies "touch" my answers are b d a b please post OAs
  8. Hi Anita, Thanks a lot for the concern. Here my situation is taking different twist altogether. yea, i was planning to take the test on 6th dec but i had really really bad experience with kaplan test 3 and 4. i just scored 550/560. my ever lowest. i dun know if i will ever be able to get 35+ in verbal. Anita, I am really not sure if i am going to buy the paper tests. If in case i happen to buy them(other than the first test which u brought) will let ya know( thats at least 4-5 days before 13th dec ..right?). Though i have 5GMATs of old pattern(not softcopy....little similar situation)...we cud have shared them had u were been here in delhi. ....my frnds out there in US are advising me to go ahead with my last score( 650) itself...but after looking at so many 700+ here i am really scared that i may end up in wasting my hard earned money. Good Luck for the test. and dun forget to share ur experience. Steve.
  9. A is my pick. there is a similar question in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] as well.
  10. Well Psyzygy, even i forgot that....thanks for reminding.. Steve..
  11. D. The ancient belief that all matter is in continuous motion seems borne out by modern discoveries about the structure of the atom. B increases gap between "ancient belief" and its modifier "that all matter is in continuos motion" C is wordy. A & E change meaning.
  12. Anita, After having horrible show with kaplan(550/540) i am shifting my date further. Now when you have taken the paper test. whats your experience? one doubt which i have is that are they 37V+41Q pattern or the old paper based 6-section pattern? and if you have actually brought the set-1 let me know so that i can get the another. Please confirm. Steve.
  13. qhoc0010, u will find the two parts parallel when u identify them correctly. have elected to retire than have elected to face these are the two parts which need parallelism. HTH
  14. OW Anita, I am planning to take the GMAT next monday(6th dec.) as you know that the time left out for the second round is too less. I wish i had more time and cud buy the test. If ever i got to buy the test i will let ya know. Apologies, Steve.
  15. Right bullfigher, getting too philosophical on GMAT land is detrimental. However I am still inclined to choose D. can we rewrite the sentence as, EU exported ....., which is sixty percent more than ________________. if i can then which of the following is more clear. EU exported ....., which is sixty percent more than what US did. or EU exported ....., which is sixty percent more than US did. the point is that we got to align with sixty percent. not with EU exported. HTH! Steve.
  16. Hey among the mentioned four i cannot find Kapil Madan, an acquintance of mine who got 800. Slightly off the track, can somebody tell how 41/37 questions map to perfect score of 51? based upon the number of right/wrong question. and vingmat, buddy how do u know its damped sinusoidal? are u sure? what is the source of info?(BTW, having helped me, u owe to know my scores (650,50Q,27V)..verbal was truely suicidal.)..retake is well in my mind...and ...cudnt find that..kap800...unlucky enuff... Steve.

    hi guyz

that might be just a bad day. Shruti, u know GMAT is a pretty random test. take time to regain ur strength and give it a full hearted try once more. u can easily improve 150-200 points from here. also i dun feel it wise to go for just any college...one can rather wait for an year than getting into hem. cheer up, Steve.
