Hi all, I was just rejected off the waitlist. I am happy with my results this year, good luck to you guys!!

I don't know how many people are on the WL, so I can not say anything about whether it is long or short. But be prepared to receive the results around the last minute, because yesterday the secretary told me (by email) that most of their offers are still out without reply. This situation also happens to UPenn and Boston U. Anyway, good luck to you.

If the admissions market really closes, then I think we would be rejected off the list right away. Maybe some people have not responded to UPenn whether they will attend. Be optimistic, it is not over until it is over.

I think they are just too nervous and don't know how to deal with it, especially when they do not have a back up.

Me, too. I sent an email to Kelly and she made her reply cc to one of the faculty. Maybe the committee want to have an idea of our willingness to take the offer given admission.

No, I have not heard any update back from Kelly. Maybe Wednesday matters will be clear.

This is a big issue. If I were you, I would definitely find out this by asking the DGS or other people such as graduate secretary.

It seems that UCLA, Berkeley, UCSD, WUSTL, PSU have sent out admissions and most of their rejections. But I have not heard anything from them. Maybe my application really makes me look like a WL guy...But I am happy to wait until the last minute.

econcr, Could I asked when were you accepted off the waitlist? And I was wondering what criterion they are using to select people on WL once there are slots available.

I have not heard anything, even though I was on WL last year. I am looking forward to UT Austin eagerly, too.

I had to say the early March is making me anxious...the most active period in which I received 8 rejections last year!!

Today UMaryland asked me to provide some official documents regarding my external grants, but I did not heard anything back then. My argument is that if they are going to reject me, they do not have to care my external sources of funding. Based on this, they still have some good news, including AD or WL, to release. This argument is rather subjective; I just share to be helpful and do not intend to jump into any conclusions.

I don't think my profile this year improved that much like Catrina. But I was notified by Seattle Washington that I am strong applicant and they asked my whether I had better offers; I also just received a letter from UPenn notifying me I am high on waitlist. Both schools rejected me last year.

A series of small waves of rej. or WL by UVA, and I have received nothing so far....could UVA please release these results all at once by a single huge wave? I am gonna be crazy!!

Among the schools I applied for last year, the worst style of sending rejections is Northwestern. Instead of a single wave, they chose to reject applicants by several waves around late February. The whole crazy duration is about 10 days to 2 weeks and I received the rejection on weekend...

My friend studying Econ MA at UT-Austin said that the rare snow in texas this year has made them closed for several days. Perhaps that is why Austin releases their results later than last year.
