  1. I just got positive news about funding, so I am hoping to speak to faculty and current students early next week. I can post what I find out if that helps! I am interested in international finance, macroeconomics, and international economics but still open to other fields since I haven't been exposed to advanced econ classes.
  2. thuswindburn, did you tell them you will probably go somewhere else? Do you know if we should we expect a funding decision by the end of this week?
  3. Thanks a lot, timmiracle. It appears that Chapel Hill is a much more rational choice, then (assuming I get funding...). I'd appreciate any other comments on the two programs.
  4. I am not from the U.S. so I find it hard to compare placements in U.S. universities. Regarding stipends, I have not heard about funding from Chapel Hill yet.. how can I find out what the stipends are?
  5. Can anyone think of any reason why I should choose Kentucky over UNC Chapel Hill? I am interested in Macro and International Economics, although not 100% sure yet I want to make those my fields. I am quite aware of the difference in rankings, but just want to make sure I make the right decision. Thanks!

  7. Did you get your rejection through email or through the website?
  8. I asked Princeton when they would send out results. Their response: "I can’t say exactly, but it will be very soon. All applicants (admits, rejections, waitlist) will be notified at the same time. It will likely be by the end of this week." I hope this helps some of you.
  9. I asked Carnegie Mellon when we should expect a decision. Their response: "Probably in the next few weeks". Very helpful....
  10. Yeah I'll definitely have run out of fingernails to bite by then.
  11. I emailed the graduate coordinator and she told me to expect news around mid-march, but I don't know how accurate that is...
  12. I have not heard anything, and there are no notifications on the website either... I saw one new post on gradcafe though.
  13. Does it say it under "Notifications" on the box on the right?
  14. I truly hope not.. no interview for me
  15. Any idea of approximately when Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, Carnegie Mellon, and Texas-Austin decisions will be sent out?
